L'invention concerne des appareils d'édition et de gestion de fichiers permettant à un fichier commun d'être mis à jour dans un système de traitement distribué, un programme d'utilisation desdits appareils, et un support d'enregistrement dans lequel a été enregistré ledit programme. Le contenu ou formulaires d'une mise à jour d'un fichier commun peuvent être modifiés de manière flexible au niveau d'un emplacement quelconque par un autre emplacement. Des moyens d'acquisition d'environnement d'édition sont utilisés pour acquérir, grâce à la gestion d'accès aux fichiers, une copie d'un fichier à éditer, ainsi que des moyens d'interface pour acquérir une demande concernant l'édition de la copie, et des moyens d'édition de fichiers pour éditer le fichier en fonction de la demande. Les moyens d'interface permettent à la copie de transmettre le résultat de l'édition effectuée de manière externe, et génèrent le résultat de cette édition avec des attributs spécifiques.
