Abstract

Beschrieben wird ein Nachtsichtsystem für Fahrzeuge. Über zwei nachtsicht-fähige Kameras, z.B. Infrarot- oder Restlichtkameras, die in der Fahrzeugfront mit einem Abstand zueinander angebracht sind, wird die vorausliegende Fahrstrecke stereoskopisch erfasst. Durch entsprechende stereoskopische Bildwiedergabeeinrichtungen wird dem Fahrer eine dreidimensionale Wahrnehmung der vorausliegenden Fahrstrecke ermöglicht. Mittels zusätzlicher Bildauswerteeinrichtungen können vorausliegende Objekte in kritischen Bereichen detektiert werden und in der Bildwiedergabe in verschiedener Weise hervorgehoben bzw. markiert werden. Das Nachtsichtsystem kann so ausgelegt werden, dass auch eine zweidimensionale Wiedergabe von Bildern oder Daten alternativ oder in Kombination zur 3D-Darstellung möglich ist. In einer erweiterten Ausführungsform werden Kopfbewegungen und/oder Blickrichtung des Fahrers detektiert und für eine entsprechende Nachführung der Bildwiedergabe eingesetzt.
