Definitions
- This invention concernes on appliance components for endoskeleton lower limbs prosthese based on material in combination metal - plastic at prosthetic area.
- the all producers components for endoskeleton lower limbs prosthese offer its in similar appearance and application material only aluminium or only stainless steel or only titanium. Which of these materials will be used depend from amputees weight, level of activities and financial possibilities. Prostheses, made by stainless steel as the heaviest are in using the most frequent. Titanium prostheses are using less because of the price while prostheses based on aluminium arc using for children's prostheses. Considering the all analysises in following tables, as comparative estimate it's taken Germany firm Otto Bock, one of the bigcst world producer components in prosthetic and orthotic.
- Main parts of skeleton for lower limbs prosthese are: foot adaptor, tube adaptor, tube clamp adaptor and socket adaptor. Each of these components is done by combination metal and plastic part.
- Polyamid characteristies are: excellent capacity to resist shocks wear and tear. It's being applied for making toothed wheel (gear wheel, spur wheel), rolling, covering strip others elements for excentres, stuffing box rings, screw propeller elements, sliding elements and exposed intesity of shock strain. Thickness is 1.13 g/cm elasticity module 1600 N/mm 2 , permanently static load until 12 N/mm 2 . Comparing thickness with titanium - 4.5 g/cm 3 and steel - 7.83 g/cm " ', it's obvious that have been geting components manyfold easier as one of very important factor in prosthetic of lower limbs. Accepting the fact to decrease substantialy titanium participation as more expensive than polyamid, the price of these components is enough cheaper. So, it's geting cheaper and more comfortable prosthese for the same quality.
- One of the purpose invention is making a simple the production in consideration of components have been obtaining by casting under polyamid pressure with metal part what really means decreasing circumference of mechanical treatment.
- Tool for casting under pressure is set up modular regarding to unification component's ends. As it's visiable on pictures that's mostly quarter timber or adjustment part. Middle part, depended from component lenght is changeable. It is making simple production components, also making a possible to pass so fast from one to another producting component, long lasting tool, reducing tool's costs, short time for producing components, what indicate on low price of components.
- Foot Adapter, picture 1 and picture 4 consists from: pyramid (1), safety screw (2), body (3), central screw M10 (4) and flat washer M10 (5).
- Pyramid (1) is from stainless steel or titanium, it's attained by mechamcal treatment from bar. Exceptionally, for children prostheses it can be used dural.
- Body (2), picture 3 is from plastic material - polyamid, it's attained by casting under pressure in tool, together with pyramid (1).
- Safety screw (2) are served for attachment attitude and for taking over part of load from central screw (4).
- Safety screw (2) are standard screw for wood.
- Central screw (4) is from stainless steel, titanium or dural. For children prostheses it can be used from plastic material — polyamid.
- Foot Adapter and foot with safety screw (2).
- Tube Adapter Tube Adapter, picture 5 and 6 consists from: bush (1) naked screw M8 (2), body (3), tube (4) and safety screw (5).
- Bush (1), picture 8 is from stainless steel or titanium and it's geting by mechanical treatment from bar.
- Body (3) is from plastic material - polyamid and geting by casting under pressure, in tool, together with bush (1), safety screw (5) and tube (4). Before casting under pressure, it's necessary to ram down bush on tube and fasten at safety screw.
- Tube (4), picture 7, is from dural or carbon fibres.
- Tube Adapter is made in combination polyamid-titanium almost the same weight as Otto Bock Tube Adapter produced from titanium at less titamum participation for 50%.
- Tube Clamp Adapter It's presented two Tube Clamp Adapter types:
- the first Tube Clamp Adapter type consists from: body (1), bush (2), naked screws M8
- the second Tube Clamp Adapter type consists from: body (1), bush (2), naked screws M8 (3)and main screw (6).
- Body (1), picture 10 and picture 14, is from plastic material - polyamid and geting by casting under pressure in tool, together with bush (2).
- Bush (2), picture 1 1 and picture 15, is from stainless steel or titanium and geting by mechanical treatment from bar.
- Main screw (6), picture 12, is from plastic material - polyamid and geting by casting under pressure and further mechanical treatment. Typically for main screw is hand drawing tight but tightening with special key. Main screw is placed so to use for below knee and also above knee prosthese.
- Tube Clamp Adapter with Clamp made in combination materials polyamid - titamum is so easier than Otto Bock titamum for almost 10% at less titanium participation _ov uoui - o.
- Tube Clamp Adapter with main screw is easier than Otto Bock titanium xor . . o at i ⁇ ss ti-anium participation tor auout 78 /_.
- Cylinder Socket Adapter is laminated directly in socket of below knee prothese. Square Socket Adapter is tied by screws with socket of below knee prosthese. Socket Adapter consists from: pyramid (1), picture 20 and picture 24, is from stainless steel or titanium, and it's geting by mechanical treatment from bar. Body (2), picture 19 and picture 23, is from plastic material — polyamid and can be square or cylinder shape. Body (2) is geting by casting under pressure (picture 8), in tool, with pyramid
- Socket Adapter is made in combination material polyamid - titanium almost the same weight as Otto Bock titanium at less titanium participation for about 50%.
- Weights for each component are given in Table 1, separately for using material in combination stainless steel - polyamid and separately for combination titanium - polyamid.
- _ ⁇ tne column 5 are weignts ior components, obtaineo oy application Oi tnis invention, and in the column 4 are suitable weights for components from Otto Bock ._> iirni. i- ⁇ a a in orac et, coiumn 3 need to assign panicipation titanium weignt in total weight for each component. It's necessary to emphasise that Otto Bock components are made or only from titanium or only from stainless steei.
- the invention has practic application in lower limbs prostetic. It's available to produce components economicaly, and done betterments have influence specially to decrease price of prosthese and in any way, make possible accessibility to modern, quality and easier prosthese for all social groups.
