Description

The present invention relates to an air purifying filter for burial vaults or sealed bunkers.
It is intended for the filtration and the purification of the air escaping, during the decomposition of the bodies, watertight mortuary cells such as vaults in one or more places and simple threads or in batteries, while allowing the penetration of outside air.
Most of the vaults or casings made to date are either sealed, or fitted with a simple air filter or a siphon system, single or double. While these systems are effective in stopping odors and microorganisms such as molds that contribute to the breakdown of the body, they have no effect against microbes, viruses and the like.
Patent No. FR 2 547 609 filed by Mr. Francis AUGIAS describes a balancing device for aeration of vaults characterized by the combination of an intake chamber and an evacuation chamber both containing a fluid constituting a non-return valve.
Another deposit from the same inventor, published under the number FR 2461 795, describes a mortuary cell with double external and internal ventilation by gas purifying apparatus with forced air intake and low pressure exhaust.
Patent No. FR 2 651 522, still the same, inventor, relates to a filtration system for mortuary vaults constituted by the combination of two enclosures, arranged inside the mortuary cell, successively traversed by the air leaving the vault or fire, the first containing an absorbent filtering mass, based on activated carbon for example, the second being filled with an oxidizing material destroying microbes and viruses, the purified air leading to the outside thanks to a chimney provided with an anti-insect grid and communicating with the second enclosure.
These devices, because of their complexity (double chamber, forced air, etc.), are of a high cost price and are not designed to deodorize the gases from the mortuary cells.
The device according to the present invention aims to remedy these drawbacks. It makes it possible to produce simple filtration devices and at a reasonable cost ensuring both deodorization and purification of gases, requiring no maintenance, operating at atmospheric pressure and requiring no manipulation if not its only set up.
It is made up of a combination of an air intake duct with an ultra-sensitive non-return valve and a filter module comprising at least one translucent tube connected to an exhaust duct and containing a deodorizing and disinfecting liquid through which gases from the mortuary cell, under the effect of natural overpressure, thanks to a mineral filter plunger opening into said liquid.
In the accompanying drawing, given by way of nonlimiting examples of embodiments of the subject of the invention: FIG. 1 is a schematic representation of a variant of the system in which the latter forms a one-piece assembly, the FIG. 2 shows a second variant in which the intake duct and the filter module are two separate elements and FIG. 3 represents a filter module comprising two translucent tubes.
Dans ce cas, le module de filtration est raccordé par une tuyauterie 6 au conduit d'évacuation 2 (figure 1).The device consists of a filter tube module 1 containing a purifying liquid and connected to an exhaust duct 2, the assembly being associated with an intake duct 3 for external air with non-return valve 4. The ducts d 'inlet and outlet have threaded ends 5, 5' intended to pass through the walls of the vault. The two elements can be separated to facilitate adaptation of the device to vaults of different dimensions, or be joined together to form a single unit. In this case, the filtration module is connected by a pipe 6 to the discharge pipe 2 (Figure 1).
The filtration tube 1 is filled with a non-volatile deodorizing and disinfecting liquid 7 retaining its properties over time. It comprises a plunger 8 provided at its base with a mineral filter 9 allowing the emulsion of gases in the liquid 7. The translucent material of the filtration tube provides visibility allowing the level of the deodorant liquid to be controlled.
The plunger 8 is connected to a nozzle 10 opening into the mortuary cell and which can be provided with a plug 11 for storing and transporting the device. During the putrefaction of the bodies, an overpressure is created which will expel the decomposition gases which can only escape through this nozzle and must obligatorily borrow the filtration circuit.
The gases will then dabble in the liquid 7 to come out purified outside the cell via the discharge duct 2.
The filtration module may include a second tube 12 arranged in series with the first. The two tubes will contain different emulsions which may consist of ethyl mercaptan for the first filtration tube 1 and of acetone nitrogen emulsion for the second tube 12.
The non-return valve 4 will be a hypersensitive model, preferably made of marine-type stainless steel.
The air intake 3 and evacuation 2, 6 ducts of filtered gas will advantageously be made of PVC tubes of approximately 50 mm in diameter.
The device described will be delivered with its liquid 7 for filtration, the inlet 3 and outlet 2 conduits being closed by removable covers. It is possible to ensure the filtration of several vaults with a single filtration device by connecting the latter to the vaults by a network of pipes.
The positioning of the various constituent elements gives the object of the invention a maximum of useful effects which had not, to date, been obtained by similar devices.
