Definitions
- the invention relates to a washing device comprising at least one brush, each brush having an axis and being connected to a drive means arranged to drive each of the brushes in rotation about their axis.
- Such a device is known from DE-A-3329631.
- the brushes are cylindrical and driven by a drive means supplied by tap water. Water pressure is used to spin the brushes. After driving the brushes in rotation, the water is ejected through the brushes. The user will then apply a part of his body against the device and the rotation of the brushes combined with the addition of water will allow this part of the body to be washed.
- a disadvantage of the known device is that it does not allow a massage of the body in combination with its washing. It is indeed advantageous, when washing, to also massage the skin which allows not only to wash deeply but also to stimulate the circulation of blood in the body.
- the object of the invention is to provide a washing device allowing both washing and massage of the body.
- a washing device is characterized in that each of the brushes is each time coupled to a translation member arranged to impose on each brush simultaneously with rotation, a movement back and forth along their axis. Since each brush is coupled to a translation member, the brush not only performs a rotational movement but also and simultaneously a movement back and forth along its axis. This back and forth movement thus allows a massage of the body which is superimposed on the washing.
- a first preferred embodiment of a washing device is characterized in that said translation member comprises a ring provided with a sinusoidal groove which extends over the circumference of the ring, said translation member comprising also a lug fixed to the device and which penetrates into said groove, said ring being fixed to the axis of the brush. Since the ring is fixed on the axis, the ring will follow the rotation of the brush. The fact that the lug is fixed to the device and that it enters the sinusoidal groove, will cause that, when the brush rotates, it will undergo a movement back and forth. Indeed, since the lug is fixed, the rotation of the sinusoidal groove will cause the brush in this movement back and forth. This embodiment thus allows a purely mechanical and therefore safe and reliable production of the translation member.
- a second preferred embodiment of a washing device according to the invention is characterized in that the ring has a thickness of at least 1 cm. The back and forth movement thus extends over at least 1 cm.
- the brush or brushes are dermatological brushes. These brushes are particularly suitable for washing and massaging the human body.
- the washing device is mounted on a slide.
- the drive means is arranged to operate at water pressure. This allows brushes to be safely trained and allows water to be used both for this training and for washing.
- FIG 3 illustrates an embodiment of a translation member
- Figure 4 illustrates a sectional view along line IV - IV "
- Figure 5 schematically illustrates a sectional view along a vertical plane of a second embodiment of a washing device according to the invention
- Figure 6 schematically illustrates a brush and its base
- Figure 7 schematically illustrates a sectional view along a vertical plane of a third embodiment of a washing device according to the invention
- Figure 8 schematically illustrates a detail of brush following the invention.
- the washing device 1 illustrated in FIG. 1 comprises a slide 2 formed by two bars 2-1 and 2-2 arranged to be fixed to a wall or a wall.
- the slide 2 makes it possible to slide the assembly from top to bottom or from bottom to top and thus adjust the height of the device to the size of the user and to the part of the body which he wishes to treat.
- the washing device according to the invention is typically arranged to be placed above and along a tub of a bath or shower. Thus the user can make use of the device when taking a bath or a shower and the evacuation of the water which has passed through the washing device can be done by the same way as the bath or shower water. .
- the washing device 1 comprises a cover 3 made of metal or plastic and covering the drive means 23 placed in the upper part of the device.
- the cover also forms a shell in which various elements of the device are housed.
- a removable support 4 extends horizontally in the lower part of the shell, while a fixed support 25 extends horizontally in the upper part of the shell.
- the brushes are preferably dermatological brushes, particularly suitable for washing and massaging the human body.
- Each brush has a cylindrical axis 8, 10 around which the bristles of the brush are arranged.
- the brushes 7 and 9 are mounted on fixed axes 5 and 6 respectively, which are mounted on the removable support 4.
- the fixed axes 5 and 6 penetrate into the lower part of the cylindrical axis 8 and 10 of their respective brushes.
- Shafts 11 and 12, which pass through the fixed support 25, penetrate into the upper part of the axes 8 and 10 of their respective brushes 7 and 9.
- the shafts 11 and 12 form part of the drive means 23.
- the support 4 is removable allows an easy replacement or change of the brushes. Indeed, it suffices to slide the support 4 downwards to disengage the fixed axes 5 and 6 from the cylindrical axes. After having released the fixed axes 5 and 6 of the brushes and after having released the protrusions 16, 17 by rotating them for example a quarter turn, the brushes can slide down and thus disengage from the shafts 11 and 12. The brushes can thus be removed from the device for cleaning or replace with others.
- the latter are preferably provided with a key 24, as illustrated in FIG. 4, which engages in grooves 26 of the cylindrical axis 8 or 10.
- the device according to invention can include either a single brush or more than two brushes.
- the brushes can also have a different geometric shape than cylindrical. However, their shape must be such that they can be rotated about their axis.
- each of the brushes 7 and 9 is coupled to a translation member (13, 14, 15, 16; 17, 18, 19, 20) arranged to impose on each brush a movement back and forth along their axis. This back and forth movement is combined with the rotational movement imposed on the brush as will be described below.
- the translation member comprises a ring 13, 18 which is fixed to the axis 8, 10 of its respective brush 7, 9.
- the ring 13, 18 extends around its respective tree 11, 12.
- the shaft 11, 12 drives the ring and the brush simultaneously in rotation.
- Each of the rings 13, 18 is provided with a sinusoidal groove 14, 20 which extends over the entire circumference of the ring.
- the translation member also comprises a lug 15, 19 fixed to a protuberance 16, 17 which is itself mounted on the fixed support 25.
- Each lug 15, 19 penetrates into the groove 14, 20 of the ring with which it is associated.
- the protrusions are mounted on a pivot (not shown in the drawings), which allows them to rotate for example a quarter turn. By rotating each of the protrusions, it is possible to decouple the pins 15, 19 from their respective grooves 14, 20. So it is not only possible to remove brushes but also to remove the back and forth movement of the brushes which will be described below.
- the ring 13, 18 preferably has a thickness e of at least 1 cm to allow a back and forth movement over at least this distance as will be described below.
- the washing device 1 also includes a water inlet 21 and preferably a coupling 22 connected to an inverter 40.
- the latter makes it possible either to direct the water towards a reduction gear 31, or towards the coupling 22.
- the shower can then in turn be supplied with water by coupling the shower hose to the coupling 22.
- the device 1 could also be provided with a mixer tap and a hot water inlet and d 'Cold water. Thus, the device could operate completely independently of the bath or shower taps.
- the water inlet 21 is connected to a pipe 30 which terminates in the reducer 31 making it possible to increase the pressure of the water. Different nozzles can be applied to the reducer in order to be able to determine the pressure as a function of that exerted by the supply water.
- the reduction gear 31 terminates opposite a paddle wheel 32.
- the latter is coupled to a speed reduction gear arranged to transform the speed of rotation into torque. This allows the brushes to rotate at a lower speed than that of the impeller but with a higher torque.
- the speed reducer is connected to a gear formed by the toothed wheels 33, 34, 35 and 36.
- the wheels 35 and 36 are they directly connected by means of the shafts 11 and 12 to the brushes 7 and 9 respectively and drive them in rotation.
- the wheel 36 is in direct engagement with the wheel 33 while the wheel 35 is connected via the wheel 34 to the wheel 33 thus allowing the wheels 35 and 36 to rotate in opposite direction to each other.
- the impeller 32 and the gear form the drive means.
- the water ejected by the reduction gear 31 is propelled against the blades of the impeller 32, causing the latter to rotate.
- the rotation of the impeller is transmitted via the speed reducer and the gears 33, 34, 35 and 36 to the brushes 7 and 9 thus rotating the latter.
- the rings 13 and 18 are fixed to the axes 8 and 10 of the brushes 7 and 9, the rings are integral with the brushes and the rotation of the brushes will cause that of the rings 13 and 18.
- the pins 15 and 19 are fixed and penetrate into the sinusoidal grooves 14 and 20 of the rings, the rotation of the ring and the brush will cause the ring and the brush to be driven in a back and forth movement simultaneously with that of rotation. Indeed, the lug pulls the ring from top to bottom and from bottom to top, since its fixed position relative to the sinusoidal groove which rotates, forces the ring in this movement back and forth.
- buttons 29 (29-1, 29-2 and 29-3) are provided on the cover of the washing device.
- the push buttons are connected to reservoirs 37, 38 and 39 containing soap and / or other cosmetic products. Pressing one of the buttons 29 makes it possible to inject the soap or the product into the water and therefore into the brushes.
- the pressed button is preferably removed slowly and automatically, for example using a spring, in order to wash your hands free.
- the device can also be provided with one or more levers 41, 42 placed on the cover 3 and arranged for automatic start-up. To this end, the levers are connected to the pipe 30 and allow the opening and closing of the water supply.
- the handles have a return spring so that when the user applies pressure to the handle (s), the device starts. As soon as the user releases the pressure, the spring returns the lever to the rest position and thus cuts off the water supply.
- the drive means can also be driven using compressed air , by a hydraulic fluid or include an electric motor.
- FIG. 5 A second embodiment of a washing device 1 according to the invention is illustrated in FIG. 5.
- This device comprises two brushes 7 and 9, each brush having a hollow frame 53, 54 around which the bristles of the brush are willing.
- the mount has a cylindrical axis.
- the brushes 7 and 9 are mounted analogously to FIG. 1, on fixed axes and shafts 11 and 12, allowing the brushes to be driven.
- the central axis 51 of the brush is inclined in the longitudinal direction at a predetermined angle ⁇ relative to the axis of rotation 52 of the brush. In this way, the rotation of the brush taking place around the axis of rotation, will cause a back and forth movement of the brush.
- This embodiment although can be used alone, can also be used in combination with the first embodiment illustrated in Figure 1, so that the brushes can then simultaneously have two back and forth movements in two separate planes, one transverse and the other parallel to the axis of rotation.
- the brush can be provided with at least one first notch 61 located at least at one of its ends. This first notch is arranged to receive at least one lug 62 located on a first face of a base 63.
- the brush has two first notches arranged to receive the two lugs 82 of the base.
- the end of the brush, receiving the lugs of the base is also arranged to receive at least part of the base so that when the base and the brush are nested one inside the other, the base is at least partially pressed into the brush.
- the base also includes, on another face opposite the first, at least one second notch 64 intended to receive a fixed axis.
- the second notch can be located either eccentrically with respect to the extension of the central axis of the brush, as illustrated in FIG. 6A, or in the extension of the central axis of the brush, as illustrated in FIG. 6B.
- the base makes it possible to offset the brush relative to its axis of rotation which causes, during the rotation of the brush, a movement back and forth, in a plane transverse to the brush.
- the base having its second notch placed centrally, the brush will rotate in a circular fashion around its axis of rotation.
- the base can also be placed on the drive shafts.
- the second notches on the base will be arranged to receive the keys of the drive shafts.
- the brush mount can also for example be in the shape of a barrel or have ergonomic shapes so as to improve the comfort of massage and washing.
- the size and geometry of the bristle bundles can vary according to their position on the brush.
- the brush mount could be a tube of predetermined length whose section is oval, square, triangular, hexagonal, or any other planar geometric shape.
- the brush will cause an alternative brushing, massaging, since for a fixed point located next to the brush, the outer wall of the frame, rotating around the axis of rotation, will move away or will approach this fixed point, depending on whether one of the vertices of the section, that is to say one of the points of the section farthest from the axis of rotation, moves away or approaches of the fixed point.
- This alternative embodiment can be combined with both the first or the second embodiment so as to obtain an additional massaging effect.
- the axis of rotation and the central axis of the frame are offset with respect to each other so as to obtain an eccentric rotation of the brush.
- the axis of rotation is offset from the central axis of the cylinder.
- this second alternative embodiment causes, as in the first alternative, an alternative brushing, massaging, since relative to a fixed point located next to the brush, the latter will move away and will approach of the fixed point.
- the brush comprises a hollow frame, for example a cylinder, provided with a wall 70 perforated with holes 71 extending into channels 72.
- Each channel houses at least part of a bundle of bristles 73 of the brush.
- Each bundle of bristles can have a different length and thickness so as to have brush zones raised relative to other zones of the brush or higher densities or hardnesses of bristles in certain places of the brush.
- the washing device also comprises a translation means 74 arranged to transform the rotation of the brush into a translation movement and to impart this translation movement to the bundle of bristles.
- the translation means comprises a sinusoidal bar 75 which extends around by the axis of rotation 76 of the brush, in the hollow part of the latter.
- Each channel 72 seeing through a part of a bundle of bristles, is provided with an outer 77 and inner 78 stop.
- each bundle of bristles can be held together by welding or gluing each bristle one to the other. other over part of their length or by crimping the bundle of bristles inside a support 79.
- each bundle of bristles or the support carries, fixed around it, a locking ring 80 retained between the external stop and inside the canal.
- each bundle of bristles can comprise an elastic member, for example, a spring 81 placed around either the bundle of bristles or the support. The spring placed in the channel will be retained between the locking ring and the outer stop of the channel.
- the sinusoidal bar is located inside the brush mount and placed at at least one of its ends on support points or fixed to one of the support points.
- the sinusoidal bar is placed on two support points 82 and 83 so as to distribute the stresses imposed on the bar when the brush rotates.
- the bristle bundle or the bristle bundle holder is in contact with the sine bar, so that when the brush rotates about the axis of rotation, the bristle bundle or the holder will follow the contours of bar.
- the hair bundles or the supports will sometimes be in the hollow of a curve of the bar, as illustrated in the lower part of FIG.
- the washing device could be provided with a means for driving the bar, this driving means allowing the rotation of the bar, for example, in the opposite direction of the brush. This system allows the frequency of coming and going of the hair bundles to be increased.
- the bundle of bristles or the support can be kept in contact with the bar via an elastic means which will bring the bundle of bristles back to its initial position.
- the translation means comprises a bar, for example sinusoidal or provided with a cam, on which the beams or supports are freely fixed.
- the beams or support will follow the movements of the cam which will cause the movement back and forth inside the channel.
