Abstract

L'invention concerne une composition destinée à revêtir un substrat tel que du verre pour constituer un revêtement de protection contre les UV. La composition comprend une majeure partie de matière support de base, et une partie mineure de matière d'oxyde inorganique sélectionnée dans le groupe constitué par de l'oxyde de zinc, de l'oxyde de cérium et du dioxyde de titane. La partie mineure de matière d'oxyde inorganique est dispersée dans la majeure partie de matière support de base sous forme de dispersion particulaire, afin de produire un revêtement capable d'absorber la lumière UV et de transmettre la lumière visible. En particulier, l'invention tire parti du fait que certains oxydes inorganiques adsorbant l'UV peuvent être broyés à une taille de particules inférieure au micron, à laquelle ils deviennent transparents/translucides en dispersion. L'invention permet ainsi d'obtenir un revêtement transparent aux UV.
