Anti-oxidation device 50 scavenges oxygen from the surface of beverage 16 retarding spoilage.

When pouring is complete, foldable, resilient anti-oxidation device 50 floats on the surface of the remaining beverage 16. In some embodiments, foldable, resilient anti-oxidation device 50 has a specific gravity smaller than beverage 16, so that device 50 floats on the surface of beverage 16.

  • the device is attached in a relatively temporary fashion to the container's cover and is intended to detach when the beverage container is opened. After detachment of the device, the device drops to the surface of the beverage and floats thereon where it scavenges oxygen.

Abstract

La présente invention concerne un dispositif anti-oxydation servant à retarder l'oxydation d'un liquide oxydable après ouverture d'un récipient de liquide. Le dispositif comprend un antioxydant servant à piéger l'oxygène, et une membrane servant à contenir l'antioxydant. La membrane est perméable aux gaz et imperméable aux liquides. Le dispositif est conçu pour se placer spontanément dans le récipient, sensiblement à l'interface entre le gaz et le liquide, endroit où le dispositif piège l'oxygène qui a pénétré dans le récipient ouvert. L'invention concerne également un procédé de piégeage de l'oxygène dans des récipients ouverts en utilisant un dispositif anti-oxydation construit selon l'invention. L'invention concerne enfin la façon d'utiliser le dispositif et un procédé permettant de retarder l'oxydation et l'altération des boissons et autres comestibles.
