Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé et un dispositif permettant de transmettre des messages courts (SMS) à un terminal mobile (2), par exemple un téléphone mobile. Selon ce procédé, les messages courts (SMS) sont transmis à un central de messages courts (4), puis dudit central à un terminal mobile (2) par l'intermédiaire d'une unité de transmission (6) associée au numéro d'abonné (MSIDSDN) du terminal mobile (2). L'unité de transmission associée au numéro d'abonné (IMSI) est déterminée par interrogation (SRI) auprès d'un registre (5) associé au numéro d'abonné (IMSI). Au moment où un numéro d'abonné virtuel est associé au terminal mobile (2), ledit numéro d'abonné virtuel est converti en numéro d'abonné effectif (MSISDN), lorsqu'un message court (SMS) est mis à disposition du terminal mobile (2), par l'intermédiaire d'une table mise en oeuvre de préférence dans une banque de données (9). La demande concernant l'unité de transmission (6) associée à l'abonné est ensuite transmise au registre (5) associé au numéro d'abonné effectif (MSISDN) et l'information est ensuite transmise au central de messages courts (4) par l'intermédiaire de l'unité de transmission (6) et d'une identité (IMSI) associée à l'abonné. Pour permettre la conversion de numéros d'abonné virtuels en numéros d'abonné effectifs, à l'aide de banques de données (9), dans des réseaux de données usuels, il est prévu que la transmission des valeurs de tables pour convertir les numéros d'abonné virtuels en numéros d'abonné effectifs s'effectue selon le protocole reposant sur le TPCP/IP (transmission control protocol/Internet protocol).
