Definitions

  • the invention is in the field of chainsaws and relates to a device and a method for sawing masonry, in particular masonry made of stone and concrete.
  • the chainsaw is not suitable for making longer cuts. Due to the way the cut is made, a precise cut over long distances is not possible. It is an object of the invention disclosed here to show a device and a method which are used to create cutouts and openings in masonry by sawing. In addition to high cutting performance and high precision, the invention is intended to guarantee. By means of the invention, it should also be possible to make precise cuts over larger distances, which extend to corner areas, flush with a wall.

  • a fundamental finding on which the invention disclosed here is based is that a precise cut over a large distance cannot be made with a chain saw by moving it only perpendicular to a side edge of its saw bar. If a chainsaw is moved over a larger distance, essentially only perpendicular to the cutting edge of its saw blade, there are various disadvantages. On the one hand the cutting forces (cutting forces) are comparatively low and on the other hand the saw tends to run out of the cutting direction. Comparatively much better results are achieved if the saw blade is not moved perpendicular to the cutting edge, but essentially in the direction of its tip (longitudinal direction), such that primarily the or only the chain part that surrounds a deflection roller located at the tip of the saw blade is sawn.
  • the chain part located on the deflecting roller can be used with correspondingly higher cutting forces without excessive material loading taking place.

This can e.g. can be achieved by repeatedly inserting the saw blade into the wall, essentially perpendicular to it. This procedure guarantees that the cut follows the specified direction.
