Description
SPITZENLOS-SCHLEIFMASCHINE MIT ORTFESTE ABRICHTEINHEIT UND VERFAHREN CENTERLESS GRINDING MACHINE WITH FIXED DRESSING UNIT AND PROCESS
The invention relates to a method for operating a centerless grinding machine and a centerless grinding machine for continuous grinding of elongate workpieces such as bars and tubes, comprising a grinding unit with at least one against the conveyed, in the machine housing of rollers or feed discs and / or rulers or strips supported workpiece adjustable, driven grinding wheel and a dressing unit assigned to the grinding wheel.
The machine arrangements which are mainly used for centerless through-grinding (see e.g. DE 296 11 638 U1, DE 33 08 586 C2) are based on the one hand on feed gears and opposite grinding wheels or on a grinding wheel with rod guide and feed drive via a regulating wheel. In any case, the grinding gap and the "sharpness" of the grinding machine change with the machining time due to wear of the grinding wheel, i.e. Geometry (diameter) and engagement conditions (surface) change with the machining time. The process must be continuously monitored and corrected. The oscillation between the intervention limits and the measurement and control deviations worsen the process reliability.
With centerless cylindrical grinding, the problem also arises that the machine frame is elastically deformed by the relatively large cutting forces between the grinding wheel and the workpiece. In order to achieve the required dimensional accuracy, the grinding process is continued after the feed movement of the grinding wheel has ended until the machine has relaxed and the cutting forces have largely been reduced. This process, also known as "firing", extends the machining time considerably, since the material removal decreases with decreasing cutting force.
From DE 40 02 632 C2 it is therefore known that the feed movement in two or more when operating a centerless cylindrical grinding machine To subdivide delivery stages with different delivery speeds and to provide breaks between delivery stages in which delivery stops or a negative delivery takes place. The infeed movement in the first and / or further stage or stages, with the exception of the last stage, is increased by the amount of elastic deformation of the cylindrical grinding machine and / or the workpiece. In addition, a dressing process is carried out during at least part of the delivery. For this purpose, the grinding wheel is reset in a feed step to a certain point and simultaneously dressed.
The invention has for its object to provide a method for operating a centerless grinding machine and a centerless grinding machine that allow constant cutting conditions with simple means throughout the life of the grinding wheel.
This object is achieved according to a method in that the grinding wheel is moved against a stationary dressing unit during the grinding and is permanently forcibly dressed. With continuous feeding of the grinding wheel, dressing takes place before each contact with the cutting edge, the contact point of the wheel and workpiece remaining stationary. No time is wasted on dressing and, in particular, no reset is required during delivery. The constant cutting conditions achieved support the uniformity of diameter, surface quality and the dynamic properties. The stationary dressing unit, preferably a dressing roller, creates the conditions for fixed, unchangeable operating sizes. The only condition is that the (constant) infeed of the grinding wheel is chosen to be slightly larger than the wear of the wheel solely by the machining process.
A preferred embodiment of the invention provides that for adjusting the diameter of the workpiece to be machined, the grinding wheel and the dressing unit are fed together and in grinding operation alone the grinding wheel is fed against the workpiece and the dressing unit. The feed for the thus precise diameter adjustment can be done by a drive derive via a suitable gear with constant gear ratio. An alternative is to connect two separate drives in position control using a suitable computing algorithm or to implement this dependency using a coupling gear. The fact that the grinding wheel is fed in alone during grinding operation enables the position of the working plane to be kept constant regardless of the infeed accuracy.
In the case of a centerless grinding machine for carrying out the method, it is provided according to the invention that the grinding wheel is opposite a dressing unit which is permanently stationary at least during grinding operation. This stationary arrangement of the dressing unit during the duration of the grinding operation creates the desired constant cutting conditions on the basis of the precisely predeterminable assignment achieved thereby. This is irrespective of whether the grinding wheel is fed continuously or at intervals, but always in such a way that the effective infeed amount is slightly larger than the wear of the grinding wheel. The compulsory dressing associated with each type of infeed independently according to the invention leads to a constant diameter and constant cutting conditions because of the invariable point of contact between the disk and the workpiece.
Es zeigen:According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, a dressing wheel designed as a cup wheel is assigned the dressing unit with active intervention on the inactive grinding wheel end face, which is distant from the point of contact between the grinding wheel and the workpiece. The grinding wheel or the removal on the workpiece and the dressing unit are always in the same working position. It is within the scope of the possibilities to tilt the grinding wheel axis or to move it perpendicular to the workpiece axis in order to vary the engagement conditions, such as for setting different grinding gap geometries, e.g. for roughing or for roughing / finishing with a pronounced firing zone. The adjustment of the grinding gap geometry by changing the position of the grinding wheel is an important effect of the selected arrangement of the dressing unit and enables almost ideal grinding geometries to be set for roughing and finishing operations and to be kept constant during machining. Further details and features of the invention result from the claims and the following description of an embodiment of the invention shown very schematically in the drawings. Show it:

The guides receiving the workpiece 1 below the working plane consist of guide disks 4 and a ruler 5. The new, unused grinding disk 3 according to FIG. 1 causes the removal with its active end face 6 at the point of contact 7 with the workpiece 1. Fig. 1) schon erheblichem Verschleiß.

The grinding wheel 3 was previously delivered in accordance with this wear in the infeed direction 2 against the workpiece 1 and the stationary dressing unit 9 and, along with the respective infeed path, was forcibly and permanently dressed and thus in a continuous operation. The position of the working level remains constant.
