Definitions
- the present invention relates to a vacuum cleaner comprising an accessory box to store the accessories, that is removably attached below the handle of the vacuum cleaner.
- suction nozzles For the vacuum cleaners, different suction nozzles have to be used according to the structure and nature of the surfaces to be cleaned. Such nozzles which in general are removably attached to the end portions of the handle and/or of the pipes connected to the handle, are used as brushes or end portions in different shapes and or dimensions, varying according to the intended use.
- the user attaches or removes said parts which can also be defined as the 'vacuum cleaner accessories' depending on the intended use while using the vacuum cleaner.
- changing and replacing said accessories may create a problem for the user.
- the storage compartment wherein the accessories are placed can be removably attached to the pipe by the user, by means of two fasteners.
- the space formed between the pipe and said compartment serves as a handle.
- the accessories to be used during vacuum cleaning are disposed in the pockets provided on the apron worn by the user.
- the accessories are received in a tool storage compartment formed in the body of the cleaner and in specific recesses formed on the door of said compartment.
- the accessory is attached to a gap formed above a part fastened onto the pipe.
- the object of the present invention is to provide ease and comfort of use to the user by placing the vacuum cleaner accessories in a box that can removably be attached below the handle.

- Vacuum cleaners being one of the most commonly used domestic appliances, comprise a vacuum cleaner body (1) wherein the motor unit realizing the suction operation and the control unit take place; a flexible hose (2) preferably made of plastic material; a handle (3) connected to said hose (2), preferably made of plastic material and which provides ease of handling for the user, a pipe (4) connected to said handle (3) and made of metal or preferably of hard plastic material; and a brush (25) used by being attached to the end of the pipe (4) in order to perform the vacuum cleaning of the rugs and/or hard ground surfaces.
- one or more end parts and/or brushes of various shapes and/or dimensions that modify the shape of the suction mouth-piece of the pipe (4) and/or handle (3), depending on the area and/or dirt to be vacuum cleaned, are attached to the end of the pipe (4) and/or handle.
- These end parts and brushes are named as accessories.
- Said accessories are stored in an accessory box (5) that provides ease of access and use of said accessories.
- the accessory box (5) is mounted preferably below the handle (3) and a fixation recess (15) that enables the box (5) to be attached to and removed from the lower part of the handle (3), is provided on said accessory box (5).
- the former i.e. a tube nozzle (10) may be used by being attached to both the handle (3) and to the end of the pipe (4) whereas the textile nozzle (11) can only be attached to the tube nozzle (10) by pushing.
- Both end pieces are provided with a fastening side (29), a sucking side (30) and one or more protrusions, projections, holes, recesses or cavities.
- the tube nozzle (10) is provided with a fastening protrusion (28) and a stopping protrusion (27), one on each side.
- the fastening protrusion (28) is smaller and closer to the end point than the stopping protrusion (27).
- Fastening holes (26) of a size, position and number that is suitable for receiving the fastening protrusions (28) on the tube nozzle (10), are provided at the fastening side (29) of the textile nozzle (11), wherein the tube nozzle (10) enters.
- the accessory box (5) preferably made as an elliptical structure due to such factors as, the place it is attached to, the dimensions of the accessories it contains, and esthetical features, comprises a rear part (6), a body (7) and a door (9).
- the rear part (6) and the door (9) are formed by elliptical surfaces in conformity with the shape of the accessory box (5).
- the body (7) is preferably in a hollow, elliptical cylinder form, in line with the shape of the accessory box (5), with no base surfaces.
- the main body (8) is formed by fixing the body (7) and the rear part (6).
- the portion of the rear part (6) that faces towards the body (7) is provided with one or more connecting latches (12) and one or more attaching recesses (23).
- the body (7) comprises connection recesses (31) with a shape, position and number conforming to the connecting latches (12) and attaching protrusions (24) with a shape, position and number conforming to the attaching recesses (23).
- the rear part (6) is attached to the body (7) by means of a screw passing through the connection recesses (31) and the connecting latch, (12), after the attaching protrusions (24) are fitted into the attaching recesses (23).
- the body (7) is fixed to the rear part (7) by fitting two attaching protrusions (24) into two attaching recesses (23) and two connecting latches (12) into two connection recesses (31).
- a fixation recess (15) is provided on the body (7) in order to attach the accessory box (5) to the handle (3).
- Said fixation recess (15) consists of two sections, namely a narrow and a wide section. The projection at the lower part of the handle (3) is first passed through the wide section and the fixation of the body (7) below the handle (3) is ensured by pushing the body (7) towards the narrow section.
- Two guide protrusions (16) in preferably opposing positions, and preferably one support protrusion (19) are located in the body (7) and one or more lock recesses (13) are located on the closing side of the door (9).
- locking recesses (13) are provided preferably at the upper and lowers parts of the door (9) closing edge of accessory box (5) so that the user can open it easily by using her fingers.
- rails (17) in the same number as that of the guide protrusions (16), locking latches (14) of a number, position and shape in line with the locking recesses (13), one or more propping extensions (21) and propping bases (22) for placing said accessories, in conformity with the shape, number and position of the accessories, and a support recess (20) of a number, shape and position of the said support protrusions (19) are provided.
- the rail (17) of a length as permitted by the body (7) is provided with a channel (18) at the center, wherein the guide protrusion (16) can enter and move preferably in one direction.
- the rail (17) connected to the door (9) moves on the guide protrusion (16) when the door (9) moves.
- the locking latch (14) is pushed and fitted into the locking recess (13) in order to lockingly engage the door (9) to the body (7).
- the locking latch (14) preferably of a flexible structure, is pressed and pulled to a direction opposite to that of the body (7).
- the locking latch (14) is released from the locking recess (13), the door (9) remains suspended to the body (7) by means of the rails (17) attached to the guide protrusion (16).
- the door (9) may be opened as much as the length of the rail (17), it is opened to such a degree that it enables the accessories contained in the main body (8) to be taken out.
- the door (9) is pushed and closed by fitting the locking latch (14) into the locking recess (13).
- the potential pivoting movement of the door (9) around the guide protrusions (16) is avoided by moving the support protrusion (19) inside the support recess (20).
- the door (9) is prevented from being separated from the main body (8) and the user can easily take the accessories out of the accessory box (5) and close it by using one hand, while holding the handle (3) with the other hand.
- the textile nozzle (11) is located on the propping extensions (21) and on the propping base (22) in the main body (8), then tube nozzle (10) is disposed in its place in the accessory box (5) (Fig. 8).
