Abstract

Bei Brennstoffzellen (DMFC) wird Methanol der Brennstoff dem System zugeführt, wobei nach der Verbrennung Anodenflüssigkeit einschliesslich von Abgasen, wie Kohlendioxid od. dgl., weggeführt werden muss. Gemäss der Erfindung wird das Kohlendioxid, das an der Anode entsteht, nach Austritt aus der Anode des Brennstoffzellenstapels heiss von der Anodenflüssigkeit abgetrennt. Dabei wird der mit dem Kohlendioxid zusammen abgetrennte dampfförmige Brennstoff im Gegenstrom mit kaltem Wasser, das im Kondensator des Kathodenabgases gewonnen wird, abgereichert und das wärmere Wasser der Anodenflüssigkeit beigemischt. Bei der zugehörigen Anlage ist wenigstens für die Anodenflüssigkeit ein Kühler (4) mit nachfolgendem CO2-Abscheider (5) vorgesehen und ist eine Einheit (6) zur Rektifikation vorhanden, mit der dort enthaltener Brennstoff abgetrennt und in den Brennstoffkreislauf zurückgeführt wird.
