Abstract

L'invention concerne un système et un procédé associé permettant de réduire la complexité algorithmique du décodage d'un signal codé MPEG. Le système selon l'invention est un lecteur de disque vidéo numérique capable de décoder et de construire un signal vidéo MPEG précédemment codé, en fonction d'un sous-ensemble d'informations renfermé dans le signal d'entrée codé. Le système comprend également des moyens servant à déterminer si le bloc particulier à décoder est d'un type prédéterminé et à décoder de façon conforme un tel bloc.
