Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé servant à régénérer une solution de saumure produite après le chargement de la résine échangeuse d'ions utilisée pour l'adoucissement de l'eau. Ce procédé cyclique continu de régénération de saumure consiste à: (I) transférer une solution de saumure contenant des cations bivalents, en particulier, des ions calcium, magnésium, fer et manganèse, à un système de précipitation de dureté (station 1) dans lequel, à un pH adapté, ces cations sont extraits sous forme de sels carbonate et/ou sulfate, en tant que précipités, ce qui permet d'obtenir une solution de saumure semi-régénérée contenant chlorure de sodium en concentration typique de 1 à 2 % en poids; à soumettre éventuellement ladite solution de saumure semi-régénérée à une étape d'ajustement de pH (station 2); (II) après ledit ajustement éventuel du pH, à transférer la solution de saumure semi-régénérée à un système d'osmose inverse (station 3), dans lequel s'effectue une augmentation de la concentration de NaCl, ce qui permet d'obtenir une solution de saumure régénérée permettant à son tour de régénérer une résine échangeuse d'ions utilisée dans un procédé d'adoucissement de l'eau; (III) appliquer la solution de saumure régénérée afin de régénérer une résine échangeuse d'ions.
