The central upper plate (4) and the central lower plate (6) are approximately 1.2 times thicker than the extreme upper plates (5) and than the extreme lower plates (7), and additionally the spacer (11) has its upper arm (10) at least 1.3 times longer than the lower arm (12), which is at least equal to the development of its curved part (13), whereby one of the arms (10,12) is approximately 1.2 times thicker than extreme upper plates (5) and than extreme lower plates (7). The bolster (2) has central vertical plates (8) connected to the extreme vertical plates (9); approximately 1.2 times than the central vertical plates (8).

Description

Rail vehicle bogie frame designed in particular for freight wagons
The subject of the invention is a rail vehicle bogie frame designed in particular for freight wagons.
Widely known is a frame in which two l-section side beams are connected by a box-section bolster in the central part and by channel section end beams at both ends. Bolsters of such frames have upper and lower flanges manufactured from one metal sheet and web plates are not divided, hence the component parts of those beams are the same. Extreme parts of upper flanges and lower flanges are connected by spacers placed in the passes of web plates of side beams, these connections being in places free from high fatigue stresses. Bogies with such frames have been produced for many years and were exhibited, for example, during the International Poznaή Trade Fair be- tween 1996 and 1999 where, apart from their physical presence one could read prospectuses of the producer of such bogies - Adtranz Pafawag Sp. z o.o. - The Y25/Rss1 Freight Wagon Bogie which contained illustrations and basic technical data. The design of those bogies is also presented in an article by Mr. Edward Gajewski and Mr. Andrzej Sosiήski entitled The 3TNh/03 (Y25Lsd1) and 3TNhb/03 (Y25Lsd1/Rss) Freight Wagon Bogies published in issue 1/2 1999 on pp. 38-41 of the periodical Technika Transportu Szynowego.
A known solution is also a bogie frame in which the side beams, in places in which they are connected to the bolster, have spacers located in the corners of recesses in the web plates of the side beams, which spacers con- nect it to the upper and lower flanges of the bolster, whereby at least one of the arms of the spacer is less thick than the plate to which the spacer is connected; the arm being 0.8 times thicker than the said plates. The solution is presented in the French description to invention application No. 9914443.
The objective of the invention is to adjust known and operated bogie frame designs to increased loads maintaining, in parallel, their advantage of a flexible connection between side beams and bolsters in a favourable way without increasing in any significant way the weight of the bogie frame. The essence of the invention consists in the fact that the bolster has its central upper plate completed with extreme upper plates and the central lower plate completed with extreme lower plates. The central upper plate and the central lower plate are 1.2 times thicker than the extreme upper plates and than extreme lower plates. The spacer has its upper arm at least 1.3 times longer than the lower arm; the lower arm being at least equal to the length of the development of its curved part, whereby at least one of the arms of the spacer is approximately 1.2 times thicker than the extreme upper plates and than the extreme lower parts. According to another feature of the invention, the bolster's central vertical plates are connected with extreme vertical plates, whereby the extreme vertical plates are approximately 1.2 thicker than the central vertical plates.
The advantage of the design according to the invention is a possibility of adjusting the known and operated designs of bogie frames to increased loads, retaining their advantage - this being the flexibility of connection between side beams and the bolster - a favourable fact which does not increase the weight of the bogie in a significant way.
The subject of the invention is shown as an example in a drawing in which fig. 1 is a top view of a bogie frame, fig. 2 - top view of a bolster, fig. 3 - end view of a bogie frame, and fig. 4 - detail "A" of the spacer connection, while fig. 5 is an A-A section of the bolster, fig. 6 shows detail "B" of the connection of central and extreme vertical plates, fig. 7 - detail "C" of the connection of the central upper plate with the extreme upper plate, fig. 8 - detail "D" of the connection of the central lower plate with the extreme lower plate of the bolster.
The bogie frame according to the invention consists of two l-section side beams 1 connected by a box section bolster 2 and by channel section end beams 3. The bolster 2 has its central upper plate 4 finished with extreme upper plates 5 and its central lower plate 6 finished with extreme lower plates 7 while the central vertical plate 8 is connected with extreme vertical plates 9. The central upper plate 4 and the central lower plate 6 are approximately 1.2 times thicker than extreme upper plates 5 and than extreme lower plates 7, while extreme vertical plates 9 are approximately 1.2 times thicker than central vertical plates 8. Extreme upper plates 5 are connected with upper arms 10 of the spacer 11 , while extreme lower plates 7 are connected with lower arms 12. The upper arms 10 and the lower arms 12 are connected by means of a curved part 13. The spacer 11 has the upper arm 10 at least 1.3 times longer than the lower arm 12, while the lower arm 12 is at least equal to the length of the development of its curved part 13, whereby one of the arm of the spacer 11 is approximately 1.2 thicker than the extreme upper plates 5 and the extreme lower plates 7. The changes in the thickness of extreme lower plates 5 and extreme upper plates 7 as well as in spacers 11 which connect them at the ends are located in the areas with small concentration of stresses at the inner side of spacers 11. Extreme upper plates 5 and extreme lower plates 7 along with spacers 11 are located in the web plate 14 of the side beam 1.
