  • the present invention relates in general to an electric hair-clipper designed to eject air in a predetermined direction during a hair cutting process, and more particularly, to an electric hair-clipper wherein a fan is installed therein so as to operate in cooperation with a motor also installed therein, and an air ejection port is formed on an incline plane of a cutter head formed with a stationary cutting blade and a movable cutting blade, so as to allow air to be ejected in a predetermined direction during a hair cutting process, thereby effectively preventing fine or short pieces of cut hairs from scattering around a hair-clipper operator's face, neck and chest, etc., and also preventing them entering into his/her eyes, throat and clothes, to thereby remove any inconvenience to him/her and provide a hygienic environment for prevention of diseases, etc.
  • an electric hair-clipper is generally comprised of a main body including a handle formed so as to allow a user to easily hold it with one hand, and a cutter head formed with a stationary cutting blade and a movable cutting blade.
  • a drive motor activated by a rechargeable battery and a cylindrical cam are installed inside of the main body whereas a drive switch is installed outside of the main body.
  • On the bottom of the handle is installed an electric input unit.
  • the rechargeable battery is inserted into the main body having the above- described configuration and the drive switch is then turned on.
  • a hair dresser or a barber who cuts hairs (herein referred to as "hair- clipper operator") holds the handle and makes the cutter head approach the head of a customer desiring to have his/her hair cut.
  • the customer's hair is cut while the movable cutting blade of the cutter head moves transversely in a rectilinear reciprocal motion in response to rotation of the drive motor and the cylindrical cam.
  • the scattered hairs enter into the operator's neck and clothes, etc., they induce an itching and bring about discomfort.
  • the pieces of hairs are blown into the inside of the electric hair clipper, this causes an obstacle to the mechanical operation thereof, thereby causing the hair clipper to malfunction and reduce the durability of the hair clipper.
  • the present invention has been made in view of the above problems, and it is an object of the present invention to provide an electric hairclipper, wherein a fan is installed within the hair-clipper so as to operate in cooperation with a motor installed therein and an air ejection port is formed on an incline plane of a cutter head formed with a stationary cutting blade and a movable cutting blade, so as to allow air to be ejected in a predetermined direction during a hair cutting process, thereby effectively preventing fine or short pieces of the cut hairs from scattering around a hair-clipper operator's face, neck and chest, etc., so as to remove any inconveniences caused to him/her.

  • the upper body 101 and the lower body 102 of the cutter head 110 are inclined toward the stationary cutting blade 204, and thus, sloping side parts 112 are formed on their upper faces.
  • a fence 111 for the cutter head 110 is formed on the borderline between the sloping side part 112 of the upper body 101 and the handle 120.
  • a plurality of air ejection ports 113 spaced from the cutter head fence 111 at regular intervals.
  • the air ejection ports 1 13 are formed so as to have an inclination angle around the sloping side part 112. It is preferable that the air ejection parts 113 are inclinedly formed so as to allow the air to be directed oppositely to the hair-clipper operator. In this case, it is preferable that the inclination angle of the air ejection ports 113 is approximately 45° ; however, there is no limitation to the inclination angle.
  • the air ejection parts 1 13 formed on the sloping side part 1 12 of the upper body 101 are formed vertically, and a guide 114 inclined to a certain angle at one side of an upper part of the air ejection port 113 is formed so as to allow the air ejected through the air ejection ports 1 13 to be ejected in a predetermined direction.
  • a single elongated air ejection port may be formed in lieu of the plurality of air ejection ports being small in size.

  • the drive switch 121 is first turned on and the drive motor is then turned on with a power source supplied from the rechargeable battery. According to rotation of the drive motor 200, the motor-operated fan 300 and the cylindrical cam 202 are rotated in cooperation with each other.

  • the motor-operated fan 300 outdoor air is sucked into the main body 100 of the hair-clipper through the air inlet opening 103 and supplied between the guide ribs
  • the air supplied between the guide ribs 116 and the fence ribs 1 15 passes through the motor-operated fan 300, guided into the air ejection ports 1 13 via the sloping side parts of the guide ribs 116, and then ejected to the outside through the air ej ection ports 113.
  • the air ejection ports 1 13 are formed inclinedly at a predetermined angle, or formed to have the most effective angle with the guide 1 14 formed inclinedly to a predetermined angle.
  • the cut hairs are, as indicated by an arrow of Fig. 7, blown out in the opposite direction to the position where the hair-clipper operator stands or a portion of the hairs are blown away from the hair-clipper operator or the customer with the air ejected through the air ejection ports.
  • the present invention provides an electric hair-clipper designed to eject air in a predetermined direction.
  • the drive motor is rotated while the drive switch is turned on. While the drive motor is rotated, the movable cutting blade reciprocates transversely over the stationary cutting blade to cut the hairs.
  • the motor-operated fan mounted to a shaft of the drive motor is activated in response to the rotation of the drive motor and outdoor air is sucked into the main body of the hair-clipper, and the outdoor air is then ejected in a predetermined direction through the air ejection ports formed on the cutter head, oppositely to the position where the hair-clipper operator stands.
  • the hair-clipper removes any inconvenience caused to the hair-clipper operator and the customer, and further provides a hygienic environment.
