Abstract

La présente invention concerne un dispositif d'affichage à formats multiples, tel qu'un tube cathodique (cathode ray tube / CRT), servant à afficher des formats 4x3 et 16x9. Ledit dispositif a un rapport hauteur/largeur de sorte que les bandes sombres verticales associées au format 4x3 ont approximativement la même largeur que les bandes sombres horizontales associées au format 16x9, ce qui permet de minimiser l'obstrusivité des bandes sombres et la distorsion d'image lorsque les images sont étirées pour remplir la zone de visualisation.
