Abstract

This utility model is a safety braking apparatus for preventing a traffic accident due to the malfunction of ECU in an automatic transmission car. It is comprising: a 'two coil latching relay' having normalcy circuit and emergency circuit; a safety brake switch operating in the case of full braking only. The normalcy circuit is keeping in during normal driving, however the normalcy circuit is switching to emergency circuit with the 'two coil latching relay' in the case of a full braking due to the malfunction of ECU or others. And then the fuel pump limits the supply of fuel to the engine since it has a less electric current through a resistor of the emergency circuit. So that the power of engine is reduced with limiting the supply of fuel. After confirming safety, the emergency circuit can be switched to the normalcy circuit.

Description

SAFETY BRAKING APPARATUS FOR AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION CAR
Technical Field This present invention relates to a safety braking apparatus for preventing an accident of the sudden start due to the malfunction of an electronic control unit in an automatic transmission car.
Background Art It is well known to cause an accident of the sudden start due to the malfunction of electronic control unit even if depressing strongly a brake pedal.
When this occurs, It is impossible to braking with an abnormal exessive power of engine. Also It has been frequently reported an accident of the sudden start due to malfunction of electronic control unit even in an automatic transmission car having a shift lock as an auxiliary safety apparatus.
Disclosure of Invention This present invention clears the technical problem without any other harmful disturbance from the failed ECU (electronic control unit) as in the above statement.
It is operated only at braking completely with the spontaneous reflection action of normal driver in case of an emergency situation, and it is not operated at common light braking during normal driving.
Further, It can be improved to traffic safety by changing a slow driving velocity without any rough engine stop in case of emergency stop. After confirming a safety environment, the emergency circuit can be recovered with a reset switch to the normalcy circuit easily. In accordance with the present invention, A safety braking apparatus for preventing an accident of the sudden start due to the malfunction of an electronic control unit comprising:
A safety brake switch having a screw pipe formed screw, a fixing nut, a tension spring, a contact support to operate only at braking completely, and a reset switch connecting to the positive pole of a 'two coil latching relay' for recovering a normal driving mode from a safety braking mode, and said 'two coil latching relay' maintaining a safety braking mode for a long period of time after switching a safety braking circuit and a normal driving mode for a long period of time after switching a normal driving circuit.

Best Mode for Carrying Out the Invention
Preferred embodiments of the present invention will be explained hereinafter with reference to accompanied embodiments. Fig.l is an illustrative view for a normal driving circuit as in this present invention, a 'two coil latching relay' 20 is operated with an electromagnetic force, and it is connected to the positive pole of battery 40 with contact point 20a and the positive pole of fuel pump 30 with contact point 20b.
The embodiment of the present invention shows a safety a safety braking circuit incorporated in safety brake switch 10 to operate only at the time of braking completely as shown in Fig. 3, and the safety brake switch 10 is made of a screw pipe 13 formed screw 13a, fixing nut 12, tension spring 14 and contact support 15, therefore the brake switch 10 can be regulated a space.
Thus, the contact point 1 1 can be closed electrically at the time of braking completely by depressing a brake pedal 16, and it is fixed on the panel 17 of an automobile. Fig.2 is an illustrative view for the operation of safety braking circuit as in this present invention, the contact point 1 1 of said safety brake switch is connected to the positive pole 21a of said '.two coil latching relay" and the positive pole of a battery, and the electric resistor 22 is connected to positive pole of fuel pump 30 and the positive pole of battery 40 through contact point 20a of said 'two coil latching relay', and the emergency warning light 26 is connected to the positive pole of a battery 40 through contact points 20e, 20d of said 'two coil latching relay', and the contact point of reset switch 24 is connected to the positive pole 21b of 'two coil latching relay', and the other one is connected to positive pole of a battery 40.
When a driver applies a brake completely with a brake pedal 16 in case of an emergency as shown in FIG. 3, the contact point 1 1 of safety brake switch 10 is closed electrically as shown in Fig. 2, thus, contact point 20a is connected with contact point 20c, and contact point 20d is connected with contact point 20e, and contact point 20a is disconnected from contact point 20b in 'two coil latching relay' 20 by the electromagnetic force. Thus, it is changed the normal driving circuit to the safety braking circuit. Further an electric current is limited in the circuit of fuel pump 30 because of passing electric resistor 22, and the rotational speed of said fuel pump is lowered.
Accordingly a smaller amount of fuel is supplied to the engine from said fuel pump, and the power of engine is reduced with the limited amount of fuel.
Therefore, It is changed to safety braking mode to prevent an accident of sudden start caused by the excessive power of engine due to the malfunction of electronic control unit without any other harmful disturbance from the failed ECU. At the same time, the emergency warning light 26 is displayed on with an electric current supplied from the positive pole of battery 40 through contact point 20d, 20e of said 'two coil latching relay'.
Therefore, a driver may recognize an emergency situation and drive a car at a safe place. Furthermore the reset switch 24 can be put on by the driver after confirming the safety of a car, accordingly contact points 20b, 20d is disconnected with contact points 20c, 20e each other, and contact points 20a is connected with contact points 20b in 'two coil latching relay' 20 by the electromagnetic force as shown in Fig. 1. Therefore, said fuel pump is operated at normal driving mode, and the power of an engine is recovered for normal driving. Industrial Applicability
A principal object of the present invention is to provide a braking apparatus to prevent an accident of sudden start due to the malfunction of electronic control unit in an automatic transmission car.
Also, this present invention make a shorter brake distance, for this reason it will be preferable to improve a safety in general traffic.
