Abstract

L'invention concerne un amplificateur qui comporte un circuit en cascade comprenant un circuit d'entrée, un circuit en cascade et un circuit de sortie. Le circuit d'entrée reçoit des signaux d'entrée par l'intermédiaire d'une entrée (10), ces signaux d'entrée étant transformés en signaux amplifiés par le circuit en cascade. Ces signaux amplifiés sont ensuite acheminés à une sortie (94) par le circuit de sortie. Le circuit en cascade comporte deux transistors d'entrée (40 et 62) et un transistor de sortie (74). Au moyen de trois condensateurs (32, 46, 50) et d'une bobine (48), le circuit en cascade est formé de façon que les transistors d'entrée (40, 62) soient connectés en parallèle pour des signaux d'entrée à haute fréquence, et que les transistors d'entrée (40, 62) soient connectés en série pour des signaux d'alimentation à basse fréquence. La transconductance est ainsi doublée, tandis que le courant collecteur continu ou le courant drain demeure inchangé. La transconductance doublée entraîne une réduction importante de la contribution du circuit en cascade à la distorsion d'intermodulation dans les signaux amplifiés. Etant donné que le courant collecteur continu ou le courant drain demeure inchangé, la puissance dissipée dans l'amplificateur demeure sensiblement la même.
