Abstract

L'invention concerne des compositions renfermant des nanocristaux hydrosolubles fonctionnalisés. Ces nanocristaux hydrosolubles fonctionnalisés comprennent des points quantiques coiffés d'une couche d'un composé de coiffage, ainsi qu'un ou plusieurs composés additionnels, liés par la suite de manière opérationnelle. Un composé additionnel contient de préférence de l'acide diaminocarboxylique lié de manière opérationnelle audit composé de coiffage, ainsi qu'un acide aminé, un ligand d'affinité, ou une combinaison de ceux-ci. Cette invention concerne par ailleurs des procédés d'utilisation des nanocristaux fonctionnalisés susmentionnés comprenant un ligand d'affinité, ces procédés étant destinés à détecter la présence ou l'absence d'un substrat cible dans un échantillon. Ces procédés consistent tout d'abord à mettre lesdits nanocristaux fonctionnalisés en présence de cet échantillon, afin de former des complexes entre les nanocristaux et le substrat, si ce dernier est présent, puis à exposer ces complexes du système de détection à une source de lumière d'excitation, et enfin à détecter le pic de fluorescence émise.
