- the types of foil which are used as conductive circuits within the electronics industry must be fixed in position to the product in question very securely in order for faults not to arise. If such a foil should come loose from the product or buckle out from the same, faults will immediately arise in the apparatus of which the foil is a part, such as for example a printed circuit. In other types of product it is often very important that certain information carriers cannot be removed from the product.
- the aim of this invention is to avoid the disadvantages which are associated with the known technique and to achieve a method and a device of an initially known type for the application of a foil or a component on various products, where it is a requirement that the foil or component is attached securely to the same.

- a double-sided adhesive tape 2 is used, against one adhes- ive layer 5 of which the foil 1 is pressed securely.
- the foil 1 is attached to the mould wall 4 using the other adhesive layer 6 of the tape 2 in such a way that the tape 2, which in addition to the adhesive layers 5 and 6 has a backing 9 for these, is located between the foil 1 and the mould wall 4 after it has been fixed in position.
- the foil In order to avoid air spaces or bubbles, it is appropriate to fix the foil to flat surfaces of the mould walls. Using a suitable pressure against the foil 1 and the adhesive properties of the adhesive layers, the foil 1 is fixed in position against the walls 4 of the moulding tool 3, so that the foil lies close to these and so that no air bubbles arise.
- the product 7 is injection moulded or vacuum formed, by which the foil 1 could be said to be embedded into the surface layer 8 of the product 7 , so that the outside 10 of the foil 1 is on a level with the surface layer 8.
- Figure 2 where the backing 9 of the tape 2 , which remains after the product 7 has been ejected from the tool 3, has been removed.
- a spacing layer 11 can be positioned around the foil 1 over the surface areas of the mould wall 4 which will not comprise the foil 1 on the finished moulded product 7, by which as a result the foil 1 projects from the surface layer 8 of the product 7 by the same extent as the selected thickness of the adjacent spacing layer 11, which, after the ejection of the product 7 from the tool 3 , is of such a kind that it is easily removable in a similar way to the backing 9 of the tape.
