Definitions
- the first-mentioned machine type includes two diametrically opposed handles projecting from a house surrounding the impact mechanism, by means of which handles an operator may hold and guide the machine during operation.
- An advantage of such machines is that the same are relatively small and therefore may be used also in spaces having limited size, e.g. in bathrooms and the like.
- a serious disadvantage of the machine in question is that inevitable vibrations in the machine are transferred directly to the operator. This is something that is ergonomically and physiologically unjustifiable.
- the vibration problem entails that the operator may work with such a machine only during very short periods of time.
- the other category of machines which are vehicular, have the advantage that a person does not need to be in direct contact with the machine (in doing so, the vibrations are transferred to the vehicle, which does not need to be manned) , but in this case, the vehicle in itself constitutes a problem by the fact that the same is bulky, as well as difficult to manoeuvre in narrow spaces. Therefore, the last-mentioned machine type will in practice most often be used outdoors where large manoeuvre space is available. To the extent that the machines are used indoors, the same may only be used in large rooms .
- machining tools are used in the form of circular sawing machines having diamond- equipped blades which are rotatably mounted in a motor housing in which a motor is included, preferably an electric motor for the operation of the blade.
- a motor preferably an electric motor for the operation of the blade.
- such tools are heavy and ungainly to handle in a manual way. This is something which frequently results in ergonomic harm for the operator, e.g. back and joint troubles.
- the present invention aims at managing the above-mentioned problems, more precisely by providing a device which, on one hand, eliminates the need for manual retention of the machining tool during operation and, on the other hand, enables the use of the tool also in narrow spaces .
- Another object is to provide a device which may be held in a reliable way without human contact at the same time as the machining members of the tool should be capable of being remote-con- trolled and directed in a flexible way in the space in which the tool operates.
- the device should be structurally simple while guaranteeing a low dead weight in order to permit a flexible handling in connection with the transport of the tool between different sites of operation.
- the device should also be capable of being driven by means of one and the same driving source, e.g.
- An additional object of the invention is to provide a device which in a universal way allows application and use of different types of machining tools, e.g. a hewing machine as well as a circular sawing machine. According to the invention, the above-mentioned objects are attained by the features defined in the single claim. Brief Description of the Appended Drawings In the drawings:
- Fig 1 is a side view showing the device according to the invention in a disassembled state, although in connec- tion with a supporting stand as well as a machining tool in the form of a hewing machine,

- Fig 3 is a side view corresponding to fig 1 showing an alternative embodiment of the invention
- Fig 4 is a side view showing the device mounted on the supporting stand and co-operating with the hewing machine, the assembly in its entirety being shown installed in a room in which a driving assembly for the device is also visualised,
- Fig 5 is a partly cut perspective view showing the side turning means according to fig 2
- Fig 6 is a perspective exploded view showing a supporting plate included in the device and the co-operation of the plate with the hewing machine.
- reference number 1 designates a device according to the invention illustrated in a disassembled state.
- the device is arranged to co-operate with a machining tool which is exemplified in the form of a bush hammer or hewing machine generally designated 2.
- a machining tool which is exemplified in the form of a bush hammer or hewing machine generally designated 2.
- the device 1 may be mounted and fixed on a supporting stand, generally designated 3, of a known type per se.
- the supporting stand 3 includes an upright 4 having a cog railway 5 along which a vertically adjustable carrier 6 is movable.
- a cogwheel is included co-operating with the cog railway 5 and rotatable by means of a motor 7, e.g. a hydraulic motor.
- a fastener 8 is included in the form of a so called standard fastener having the purpose of receiving an anchor plate 9 appurtenant to the device 1.
- This anchor plate 9 may be locked in the standard fastener 8 by means of a schematically outlined locking mechanism 10, e.g. an eccentric locking mechanism.
- the stand 3 furthermore includes a bottom part 11 having a widespread surface as well as braces 12 to which a pair of wheels 13 is connected, by means of which the stand in an inactive state may be rolled between different sites .
- an axially adjustable bar 14 having a screw mechanism 15 is also included in the stand, by means of which the stand may be fixed between a ceiling and a floor in a room in which the stand is installed.
- the hewing machine 2 is of a conventional type inasmuch as it includes an impact mechanism 17 drivable by a motor 16, e.g. a hydraulic motor, which mechanism has the purpose of setting an iron bar 18 in reciprocating, fast impact motions.
- An anchor plate 19 is connected to the upper part of the machine, which plate in the example extends perpendicularly to the longitudinal axis of the iron bar 18.
- the stand 3 as well as the hewing machine 2 as such are in all essentials previously known.
- the device 1 comprises two jibs or arms 20, 21 which are interconnected via a first hinge 22.
- the inner stand 3 being closest to the jib 20 is via a second hinge 23 hingedly connected to an upright shaft or pin 24 which, in a suitable way, is rotatably mounted in a frame designated 25 in which also the aforementioned anchor plate 9 is included.
- the inner jib 20 is somewhat longer than the outer jib 21.
- the opposite condition is also feasible and at times preferable.
- the length of the individual jib should, however, be within the range of 500 to 1000 mm.
- the inner jib may, for instance, be of a length of 700 mm and the outer jib of 900 mm.
- the outer jib 21 is, at the free end or tip thereof, articulatedly connected to a supporting plate 26, more pre- cisely via a third hinge 27.
- the plate 26 forms a standard fastener for the tool 2, more precisely by the fact that the plate 26 includes means 28 (see fig 6) for receiving the anchor plate 19 of the tool.
- a first one, viz . the hydraulic cylinder 29, is connected to a fourth hinge 32 in a fastener underneath the inner jib 20, as well as to a fifth hinge which is associated with a lower part 34 (see fig 5) of the turning shaft 24.
- the part 34 may advantageously consist of a bracket projecting perpendicularly from the lower portion of the pin 24 in which bracket the hinge 33 is mounted. It should be evident that the hydraulic cylinder 29 servilely follows the inner jib 20 when this is turned in either direction in relation to the vertical axis of the shaft 24.
- the hydraulic cylinder 29 has the purpose of raising and lowering the inner jib 20.
- the second hydraulic cylinder 30 is connected to a sixth hinge 35 on the top side of the inner jib 20 as well as to a seventh hinge 36 on a finger-like element 37 which is stiffly united with the outer jib 21.
- the hydraulic cylinder 30 has the purpose of guaranteeing tilting of the outer jib 21 in relation to the inner jib.
- the third hydraulic cylinder 31 is connected to an eighth hinge 38 on the outer jib 21 as well as to a ninth hinge 39 which is attached on the top side of the supporting plate 26.
- This hinge 39 is situated at a distance from the hinge 27 between the supporting plate and the outer jib 21.
- the plate 26 may be tilted to different angle positions in relation to the outer jib. From this, it follows that the angle of the iron bar 18 in relation to the same outer jib may be readjusted.
- This clearance angle should be within the range of 0-135°.
- the corresponding clearance angle between the jibs 20, 21 should be within the range of 0-180°, and the clearance angle between the inner jib 20 and the pin 24 should be within the range of 0-90° .
- fig 5 illustrates a means for turning of the vertical shaft or pin 24, viz . a fourth hydraulic cylinder mechanism of a double-acting type in its entirety designated 40. One end of this hydraulic cylinder 40, viz.
- the cylinder end is, via a tenth hinge 41, connected to an ear on a registration arm 42 projecting laterally from the anchor plate 9.
- the opposite end, i.e. the rod piston end is, via an eleventh hinge 43, connected to an end of a rigid link 44, the opposite end of which is, via a twelfth hinge 45, connected to an arm 46 protruding radially from the turning shaft 24 and being rigidly connected thereto.
- the arm 46 is somewhat rotationally displaced in relation to the first hydraulic cylinder 29 as well as the inner jib 20 co-operating therewith.
- fig 6 is shown how the supporting plate 26 on the underside thereof has two cross-section-wise L-shaped rulers 28 serving as guides, in which the side edges of the anchor plate 19 may be inserted, and then vertical flanges on each plate, respectively, may be connected by means of, for instance, a nipple.
- the device 1 is shown mounted on the supporting stand 3, and the hewing machine 2 being mounted on the supporting plate 26 of the outer jib.
- fig 4 is also shown how the device co-operates with a motor-driven pump unit in its entirety designated 47, by means of which the above described hydraulic cylinders may be supplied with pressure medium, particularly hydraulic oil.
- the pump included in the assembly 47 may advantageously be driven by an electric motor 48, and the hydraulic oil supply may be controlled by means of a remote control device 49.
- the inner frame 25 of the device may be fixed in a desired point in the room, and then the hewing machine 2 may, in a flexible way, be located to desired machining positions by means of the four hydraulic cylinders 29, 30, 31 and 40 described above.
- the inner jib 20 may be turned laterally in relation to the upright 4 of the stand.
- extension or shortening of the hydraulic cylinder 29 the outer end of the inner jib may be raised and lowered, respectively.
- the outer jib 21 may be tilted in order to raise and lower the hinge 27 in relation to the main hinge 22 between the jibs.
- the supporting plate 26 may in addition be tilted in relation to the outer jib in order to readjust the angular setting of the iron bar 18 in relation to the outer jib.
- the iron bar may not only be located to a certain, required work point in the floor frame work, the tie beams or a wall, but also in a smooth way be transported while the tip of the iron bar during operation in progress has to be moved, more precisely in small, fine movements.
- a substantial advantage of the device according to the invention in addition to the fact that it permits a flexible displacement of the iron bar of the machining tool with fine and exact movements, is that the device as such is easily portable and comparatively compact, whereby the device may be brought and installed also at work in narrow spaces.
- the invention above has been exemplified in connection with a hewing machine, it may also be used for other machining tool, in particular circular sawing machines for sawing. It should also be mentioned that the same may be mounted on other carriers than the type which has been illustrated in the drawings.
- the device may, for instance, be mounted on a simple supporting plate which is fixed, for instance, on a wall.
