Description

Montre à affichage analogique Analog display watch
The present invention relates to a watch with analog display comprising at least two annular, coaxial indicator discs driven in rotation about their common axis by a clockwork movement, these discs and this clockwork movement being housed in a housing having at least an opening which passes right through it in the direction of said axis.
It should be noted that the term “opening” passing through the case means an opening or hole passing through the watch from a visual point of view, independently of any transparent elements which could cover, or be inserted into the space of the opening which thus remains open to view and contains no functional element of the watch.
A watch of the aforementioned type has been described for example in Swiss patent N ° 680,486. The watch according to this patent however has the major drawback of necessarily leading to a relatively elongated shape, which considerably harms the aesthetics of the watch and makes it difficult to portable for people with a small wrist. On the other hand, this watch has indicator discs superimposed so that the upper disc must be at least partially transparent for an index on the lower disc to be readable.
The present invention aims in particular to remedy these drawbacks by providing a watch which, while having said opening of the case, can be produced in a form such that the largest dimension of the watch in a plane perpendicular to the mentioned axis is substantially reduced, so as to make the watch more aesthetic and better suited to the wrist. In addition, the invention aims to improve the readability and the aesthetics of the display allowing a finishing of the discs and indexes which is not limited by the constraints of the watch proposed according to the aforementioned patent.
To this end, the watch according to the invention has the features indicated in the characterizing part of claim 1.
Claims 2 and 3 describe preferred embodiments of the watch according to the invention. These embodiments make it possible in particular to manufacture the watch case by the usual means for manufacturing watch cases, and to manufacture the support for the mobile parts according to the rules and tolerances used in the manufacture of watch plates. This leads to a significant reduction in manufacturing costs and in particular allows the gear train to be tested separately, it no longer depending on the watch case.
Other characteristics, objects and advantages of the invention will emerge from the description of an embodiment given below by way of example and illustrated in the appended drawings in which:
la Fig. 1 est une vue de dessus d'une montre selon l'invention; etFig. 1 is a top view of a watch according to the invention; and
The watch shown somewhat schematically in Figures 1 and 2 has a characteristic aesthetic element in the form of an opening 1 passing right through the watch. The case of this watch essentially comprises three parts surrounding this opening, namely an external annular part 2, an internal part 3 and an annular crystal 4 joining these external and internal parts. This glass 4 is inserted between two annular surfaces, namely an outer annular surface 5 formed by a ring 6 integral with the outer annular part 2, and an annular surface 7 formed on the outer periphery of the inner part 3.
The housing thus produced has a compartment 8 closed by a bottom portion 9 fixed to this housing by screws 10.
The display device of this watch comprises two annular indicator discs arranged essentially in the same plane, namely an inner disc 11 and an outer coaxial disc 12.
The internal disc 11 carries a mark 13 used for the indication of the hours and is driven by a pinion 14 cooperating with an internal toothing of this disc.
The outer disc 12 carries a mark 15 used for the indication of the minutes and is driven by a pinion 16 cooperating with an external toothing of the disc 12. The pinion 16 is integral with a coaxial pinion 17 driven by a wheel 18, the latter being mounted, like the pinion 14, on the main axis 19 of a usual clockwork movement 20. The pinions 16 and 17 are mounted on a bridge part 21 which is integral with an annular support piece 27 fixed in the outer annular part 2 of the housing. The part 27 comprises support parts such as 22, 23 and guide parts such as 22 ′, 23 ′ for the disks 11 and 12 arranged in a rotary manner in the upper part of the housing 8 formed by the parts 2 and 3. The part 27 also serves as a support for the clockwork movement 20 so as to form, with the moving parts 11, 12, 14, 16, 17, 18, an assembly which can operate independently of the case. The figures also show a winding part 24 accessible through the opening 1 of the case, and two parts for attaching a bracelet 25 and 26.
The marks 13 and 15 are visible through the glass 4 and display, respectively, the hours and the minutes with respect to corresponding markings formed for example, on the one hand, on the visible surfaces of a portion 2 'of the part 2 and, on the other hand, on the outer surface of the ring 6.
It appears from the present example that the watch according to the invention has a maximum dimension, in the plane of the display discs, which is significantly reduced, while allowing a very characteristic aesthetic embodiment based on the opening passing through the watch. Thanks to the structure of the present case and the fact that the entire movement comprising all the moving parts is independent of this case in which it is simply placed, the cost of manufacturing such a watch can be considerably reduced.
