Abstract

The invention solves the problem of simultaneous crushing and baling the wastes of different assortement and unsteady amount. The trolley (1) with the working cylinders moves above the appropriate loading chamber (5 or 6) using the hand-operated traversing mechanism driven with the knob (3). The appropriate quantity of cylinders and pressing plates (4) work according to the size of the chamber.

Description

Scrap baling and crushing press
This invention relates to a scrap baling and crushing press, especially used for packagings that in their free form take up considerably big space and have small mass in comparison with their volume.
The following are examples of such wastes: cardboard packagings, waste paper in the form of cuttings, plastic containers and bottles, tin containers, tailoring wastes. There are known different presses used for crushing and pressing different materials in which hydraulic and pneumatic driving cylinders are used. These cylinders work together with a working element in the form of a plate or a punch crushing the wastes inside the loading chamber. Drives are usually fixed immovably on the supporting structure and the loading chamber is adjusted to the dimensions of a crushing element.
In the press for wastes, especially this used for litter, protected by the Polish Patent No 167189, there is one horizontal motion piston and it works together with the loading chamber of stated dimensions and shape. The similar situation is in the crushing and baling press presented in the Polish utility model No 55160 - one cylinder drives a plate pressing in the horizontal motion and working together with the loading chamber fixed to the supporting structure.
The task of the invention is to suggest a cheap, simple structure of the press for crushing and baling wastes with different dimensions of loading chambers inside one device. It enables the press to work at the same time with different wastes sorted out according to the assortment as well as w h diferent dimensions of the charge. In the solution of the invention a number of working cylinders are fixed on one moving trolley which has working elements in the form of pressing plates with different dimensions adjusted to different dimensions of loading chambers.
The trolley moves above the appropriate chamber and depending on its size an appropriate number of driving cylinders and an appropriate size pressing plate work (the surface of the plate is sometimes formed with a number of smaller pressing plates).
The movement of the trolley is done using a simple, cheap, hand-operated, easy to operate driving mechanism which allows the device to be operated with a rninimum physical effort by workers with low qualifications.
The subject of the invention is shown in the example of execution in the drawing where fig.1 shows the front view during crushing in the big chamber 5, fig.2 the side view with a schematically marked bunch of wastes 7 during unloading, whereas fig. 3 shows the front view during crushing in the small chamber 6.
The crushing and baling press in the example of execution is shown in a three- chamber version - one big chamber 5 and two small chmabers 6.
On the trolley \ there are two working cylindres fixed each of them working together with one pressing plate 4. In fig. 1 the press is shown in the phase when the two cylinders work and the pressing plate is formed with two pressing plates 4, according to the dimensions of the chamber 5. The trolley I has two wheels 2 and is moved using the hand-operated traversing mechanism started with the knob 3.
In fig.3 the press is shown in the working phase in the small chamber 6, the trolley I is moved above the small chamber 6, one cylinder is working with one pressing plate 4 adjusted to the dimensions of the loading chamber 6.-
The crushing and baling press is equipped with an unloading mechanism of a known structure. Unloading is perfomed after hand tying the pressed wastes with a band, after a return motion of the piston (pistons) and after the trolley 1 drives back as well as after the door in the front wall of each chamber is opened. The press according to the invention is especially suitable for the users who have different assortment of wastes in unsteady amounts.
