Definitions
- the invention is based on a module for accommodating components of motor vehicle interior equipment according to the category of independent claim 1, as described in the VDI report 1287 from 1996 "Electronics in motor vehicles” in the article “Modularity versus complexity using the example of a new one Dachhimmelmodules ", E. Hafner, pp. 569-582.
- the module according to the invention with the characterizing features of claim 1 is characterized in that a sensor for monitoring the interior and / or a sensor for monitoring the seat occupancy is arranged in a side surface of the housing.

The combination of different components such as lighting, controls, sensors and possibly other electronic components in one housing allows easy assembly.
- the side surface of the module is rounded.
- the positioning of the sensor can be carried out in a suitable manner, depending on the interior area to be monitored, without housing edges impairing the signal detection.
- the sensor can be integrated directly into the side surface. This design avoids sharp edges and annoying protrusions.
- the side surface has at least one recess for receiving the sensor.
- the sensor is protected and arranged inconspicuously in the recess.
- At least one microphone is integrated in the housing.
- the spatial arrangement of the interior module in the front roof area is particularly suitable for voice signal detection.
- the interference signal component can be reduced in this way.
- an antenna for example a patch antenna for communication with microwave technology, and / or a radiation sensor are used as sensors.
- the antenna which is preferably arranged on the front, is used, for example, for data exchange with a remote control or a billing system.
- the orientation in the direction of the front window of the motor vehicle places the data exchange with the transmitter / receiver system outside of the Motor vehicle safe.
- the radiation sensor the ambient brightness can be used for automatic lighting control.
- tunnels and underpasses can be recognized so that the low beam can be switched on and off automatically if necessary.
- An expedient development provides for the arrangement of a control device for controlling the sunroof in the housing of the module. Thanks to the spatial proximity of the control unit to the adjustment drive, the one is reduced
- the operating signals of the actuating device are evaluated on site and converted into corresponding control signals.
- An advantageous embodiment integrates at least one sensor in the cover surface.
- the redundant sensor design for example for monitoring the seat occupancy, increases the reliability due to the spatially different positioning, since different interior areas are monitored.
- An interface to an interior mirror and / or bus system is preferably integrated in the housing of the module.
- An electrical connection of the interior mirror by separate lines can be omitted.
- the interface is also suitable for mechanical fixation of the interior mirror.
- the bus system enables a continuous data exchange between the sensors and the central electronics of the motor vehicle, which transmit the sensor signals, for example, for the airbag deployment or for the
