Abstract

The present invention relates to a pumping apparatus that comprises an additional system for supplying it with a driving fluid. This system comprises a device for the inlet of the driving fluid and for the outlet of gaseous medium as well as chamber sealing device. The driving fluid is supplied under a hydrostatic pressure in the chamber for the liquid to be pumped which is lower than the hydrostatic pressure in the chamber for the driving fluid. In the case where the rod chamber and the working chamber of the hydraulic engine are separated by a bypass valve, said chambers are supplied separately when the plunger of the hydraulic engine is at its upper position. The freely communicating chambers located above the plunger and the valve are supplied through an upper opening in the rod chamber. The working chamber located below the plunger is supplied through an uncoupled duct connection located between the pump and the hydraulic engine, wherein said connection is further connected for supplying the pump chamber. The chambers to be supplied are sealed.
