Selon l'invention, pour maintenir propres les parois (6) d'une cabine (1) et pour récupérer des particules de peinture (5) projetées sous la forme d'un nuage de peinture dans ladite cabine (1), on forme, sur au moins une partie des parois (6) de la cabine, un film d'eau (8) s'écoulant de façon laminaire et auquel une haute tension est appliquée, de sorte que les particules de peinture (5) se trouvant à la surface du film d'eau (8) sont sorties de la zone intérieure de la cabine (1). Les particules de peinture (5) sont séparées de l'eau et séchées. Les particules de peinture et l'eau sont réutilisées.
