Definitions
- the present invention relates to a seat such as a car seat, and more particularly to its frame and its seat cover reminder function.
- a seat in particular a car seat, consists of a rigid frame framing a semi-rigid frame and foam cushions mounted on the frame and covered with a leather or fabric envelope called a cover.
- the semi-rigid frame may for example comprise a lattice of metal wires connected to the chassis by springs.
- cap tie rods ensuring a function called "cap recall".
- a cap reminder is generally made up of a strip of textile material, one of the longitudinal edges of which is fixed to the cap and the other edge of which is fitted with an extruded plastic plate forming a gripper.
- the cushion is split over a long length to form an elongated lumen through which the cap return is engaged so that the gripper takes support against the back of the cushion on either side of the slot.
- An object of the invention is to propose a seat structure making it possible to reduce the number of components and the time necessary for the assembly of a seat.
- a seat comprising a semi-rigid frame framed and carried by a rigid frame, in which the semi-rigid frame comprises a plurality of slats coupled to the frames.
- the semi-rigid reinforcement thus formed is simple and inexpensive. It also improves the maintenance and comfort of the seat user.
- the band drawing has an opposite longitudinal edge which is coupled to one of the reinforcing slats.
- the slat performs a double function: not only does it perform its initial function of reinforcing the seat, but it also performs an additional function of anchoring the pulling strip.
- This double function of the profile of the cover reminder makes it possible to reduce the number of parts necessary for the constitution of the seat and, consequently, to facilitate its manufacture and to reduce its cost.
- the profile being directly fixed to the seat frame, the tension of the cover is improved and the effectiveness of the maintenance of the cushions on the seat frame is enhanced.
- connection of the profile to the frame of the seat is carried out by means of at least one tie rod to which the profile is coupled, this tie rod being coupled by each of its two ends to the frame of the seat.
- the two ends of the profile are directly coupled to the chassis.
- FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a cap reminder strip, according to a first embodiment of the invention
- FIG. 2 is a partial perspective view, with parts broken away, of a seat back equipped with a cover reminder strip identical to that of Figure 1;
- Figure 3 is a view similar to Figure 1 illustrating a second embodiment of the invention
- Figure 4 is a view similar to Figures 1 and 3 illustrating a third embodiment of the invention
- FIG. 5 is a partial perspective view, with cutaway, of a seat back frame with simple slats, without cover cap, according to the invention.
- FIG. 1 there is shown a cap return slat 1 according to a first embodiment of the invention.
- This cap reminder comprises a pulling strip 2 of flexible material.
- This pulling strip has a longitudinal edge 3 intended to be fixed, for example by sewing, to the cover of a seat, as will be better explained later.
- the strip 2 also comprises, opposite its longitudinal edge 3, a longitudinal edge 4 which is coupled to a profile 5 along a median plane of this profile.
- Profile 5 has an oblong, rectangular section in this case. It is made of a thermoplastic material. Its size and its material of construction are chosen so as to constitute a semi-rigid slat capable of exerting a reinforcing function, as will be better explained later.
- Tie rods 6, here two in number, are embedded in the profile 5. They extend parallel to each other in the longitudinal direction of the profile and are arranged symmetrically on either side of the median longitudinal plane of the profile. These tie rods 6, which cross the profile 5 without discontinuity, have two opposite ends 6.1 which extend outwardly from profile 5 and are fitted with end fittings 7.
- FIG 2 there is shown a seat back equipped with cover reminder slats conforming to that of Figure 1.
- This seat back comprises a rigid frame 8 framing a semi-rigid frame designated by the general reference 9.
- This frame comprises a series of semi-rigid slats which are formed by the profiles 5 of the cap recalls 1.
- the coupling of the profiles 5 to the chassis 8 is carried out by means of the tie rods 6 whose ends 6.1 pass through the chassis 8 and are retained by the end pieces 7.
- the end pieces 7 may for example be crimped onto the ends of the tie rods 6, or else be replaced by nuts or the like engaged on an end thread of the tie rods so as to allow tension adjustment of the latter.
- the longitudinal edge 3 of the pulling strip 2 is fixed to a cover 10 (in leather, fabric or the like) enveloping a cushion 11 (which is here made of foam). Lights are provided in the cushion 11 to allow the passage of the pulling strips 2 between the profile 5 and the cover 10. The tension exerted by the pulling strip 2 of each cover reminder 1 on the cover 10 forms fold lines 12.
- FIG. 3 there is shown a cap return slat according to a second embodiment of the invention.
- This cap reminder here designated by the general reference 20, comprises, as before, a pulling strip 21, one of the longitudinal edges of which is integral with a profile 22 of oblong section forming a slat.
- the pulling strip 21 extends along a median longitudinal plane of the profile 22.
- the profile 22 has a face 23 opposite the pulling strip 21 which is equipped with two rods of holding 24 arranged symmetrically on either side of the median longitudinal plane of the profile.
- These retaining rods are in the form of profiles having a hook-shaped section.
- Two tie rods 25, intended to ensure the coupling of the profile 22 to the seat frame, are engaged in the retaining strips 24.
- These tie rods each have two ends 26 which extend externally to the strips 24 and which are fitted with end caps 27 hanging. This alternative embodiment makes it easier to assemble by transverse engagement of the tie rods inside the rods.
- FIG. 4 illustrates a third embodiment of a cap return slat and of a seat in accordance with the invention.
- the cap return slat designated by the general reference 30 comprises, as previously, a pulling strip 31, a longitudinal edge of which is integral with a profile 32 of oblong section, forming a slat.
- the coupling of this profile to a frame element 33 of the seat is carried out by direct anchoring of each of the two ends of the profile 32 to this element.
- the element 33 (which is part of a rigid frame) is equipped with an anchoring block 34 fixed for example by screwing and having a housing 35 receiving the corresponding end of the profile 32.
- a Figure 5 shows a seat back equipped with a frame with simple slats, according to the invention.
- this seat back includes a rigid frame 8 framing a semi-rigid frame which is here designated by the general reference 40.
- This frame comprises a series of semi-rigid slats 41 which exercise here a unique frame function and n does not exercise a cap recall function as was the case in the embodiments previously described.
- the cover of the cover 10 along the fold lines 12 is provided by another means such as a cover recall conventional (not shown in Figure 5).
- the coupling of the slats 41 to the chassis 8 is produced by means of tie rods 42 whose ends pass through the chassis 8 and are retained by end caps 43.
