L'invention concerne un isolateur (1) dans lequel, pour empêcher la formation de criques longitudinales sur une fibre optique (7a, 7b) placée dans son espace intérieur (5), même à des températures particulièrement basses, il est prévu que cet espace intérieur (5) soit rempli, sous surpression, d'une mousse (13), laquelle est expansée avec un gaz isolant, notamment du SF6. L'isolateur (1) convient notamment pour des systèmes de mesure utilisés dans la technique haute tension.
