  • Non- volatile memory 323 can be read by a service technician to allow diagnostics of the system to be performed. Diagnostic error information is associated with one or more of the following counts: (1) minute count, (2) ignition count, and (3) reverse gear count. Minute count is a count of the number of minutes that an error existed. A counter begins incrementing when one or more errors are set, and stops incrementing when no error exist in the group or when the count reaches a predetermined maximum value. The ignition count counts the number of times the host vehicle ignition was turned on after an error that had detected has cleared. If the ignition count reaches a predetermined maximum value, then each of the counters related to errors are preferably reset. The reverse gear count is a count of the number of times the vehicle is put into reverse gear while an error is being detected. Accordingly, at least one error must exist for the reverse gear count to be incremented.

  • the Control Device 301 logs the condition in the non-volatile memory 323 and attempts to display a system failure indication through the Indicator Module 106.

Abstract

La présente invention concerne un système permettant de détecter un objet dans une zone de danger. Deux émetteurs-récepteurs émettent et reçoivent des signaux. Les premier et second signaux de canal de gauche et les premier et second signaux de canal de droite sont séparés les uns des autres. Un signal est émis à partir d'une première antenne sous forme d'un signal de canal de droite en onde entretenue (CW). Chacun des signaux émis réfléchit sur des objets que les signaux ont atteints. A la réception des signaux réfléchis dans chacune des fréquences émises, chacun des quatre canaux subit un abaissement de sa fréquence destiné à générer quatre signaux Doppler. En comparant la phase du premier signal Doppler de canal de droite résultant de l'abaissement de fréquence des signaux reçus dans une première fréquence porteuse avec la phase du second signal Doppler de canal de droite résultant de l'abaissement de fréquence des signaux reçus dans une seconde fréquence porteuse, on peut déterminer la distance entre l'antenne droite et chaque objet. De même, en comparant la phase des premier et second signaux Doppler de canal de gauche, on peut déterminer la distance entre l'antenne gauche et chaque objet. En comparant la distance par rapport aux objets détectés par les signaux de canal de droite avec la distance par rapport aux objets détectés par les signaux de canal de gauche, on peut déterminer la position exacte de chaque objet détecté par rapport au véhicule. On peut, donc, déterminer si chaque objet est à l'intérieur ou à l'extérieur de la zone danger prédéfinie.
