- REPLACEMENT BLA ⁇ (RULE 26)
- the main components of the device are a coil (1) and an associated generator (2) (Fig. 1).
- the coil consists of several windings with an electrical conductor (preferably copper wire or copper tube).
- the generator supplies a medium or high frequency signal in the middle or Long-wave range (30 kHz - 1 MHz)
- the coil diameter is so large that the patient's body region, in which the metal endoprosthesis is located, can take a central position within the coil (Fig. 2) by applying the signal of the generator to the coil an eddy current is induced in the metal implant. Eddy current losses lead to heating of the implant, depending on the frequency, the power and the duration of action.
- Normal body tissue does not undergo measurable inductive heating in the immediate vicinity of the metal implant (eg reduction of intimal hyperplasia in the case of vascular stents incorporated into the vascular wall or ingrowth of tumor cells during palliative stenting in other hollow organs).
- the method can also be useful prove fully to complete a deliberately created vascular (aneurysm) occlusion by causing local thermal damage to the blood cells by selective heating of the implant (metal spiral) in the blood stream and thus creating a thrombosis

Abstract
Description
Induktionserwärmungsanlage für in Lebewesen eingesetzte metallische Implantate
Beschreibung
