The packaging machine comprises a roller arrangement (20; 40) which plastically deforms the plastics web (11; 11a) according to the distances (a) between the cups. Die Erfindung geht aus von einer Verpackungsmaschine nach dem Oberbegriff des Anspruchs 1. Bei der Bearbeitung einer Näpfe aufweisenden und mit einer Deckfolie versiegelten Folienbahn können insbesondere zwei Probleme auftreten: zum einen kommt es zu nicht mittig geprägten, perforierten bzw. gestanzten Verpackungsstreifen, was sich bsw. in zerdrückten Näpfen oder Tabletten äußert. Zum anderen kann ein Versatz zwischen der Folienbahn und der Deckfolie bestehen, so daß Druckbilder der Deckfolie nicht mehr positionsgerecht auf der Folienbahn erscheinen.
