  • the foot members 5 may be deposited on the mounting element, in this case the gunwale moulding 2, and be adjusted in a suitable position relatively to the cross-rail by displacement in the longitudinal direction thereof. Thereafter, the fork- leg member 7 is pivoted down to the position illustrated in Fig. 4 in which the support plate 22 is placed in abutment against the gunwale moulding 2. As illustrated in Fig. 4, the traction rod 23 is thereafter inserted through the support element 25 in such an angular position that it may be introduced freely through the support element, i.e. the thread portions of the traction rod are turned so as to be presented oppositely the corresponding thread portions 25a in the support element.
  • Numeral reference 30 designates a covering hood preferably made from plastics and reference 31 designates a lock allowing the covering hood to be locked to the fork-leg member 7 whereby also the lever 26 will be locked in the active position illustrated in Fig. 2 and thus prevented from being released by an unauthorized person.

It is in the order of things that the mounting elements need not consist of the roof mouldings illustrated by could be some other kind of mounting element which naturally could also extend in a different direction, for instance in the transverse direction of the vehicle, in which case the cross-rails will extend in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle.

Abstract

La présente invention concerne un porte-charges destiné à être monté sur un véhicule, par exemple sur la gouttière longeant le toit dudit véhicule. Ce porte-charges se compose d'un rail transversal et d'éléments pieds reliant le rail à la gouttière ou à tout autre élément similaire. Dans cette invention, chaque élément pied comporte en sa partie inférieure une base en forme de pied fourchu comprenant des pattes (6, 7) orientées vers le bas, lesquelles pattes définissent entre elles un espace destiné à recevoir l'élément de fixation du véhicule, notamment une gouttière. Certaines parties desdites pattes de la base descendent en-dessous de l'élément de fixation de manière à former un système de fixation rapide à l'aide d'un élément de raccord (23) situé entre ces mêmes pattes. En position désactivée, ce système présente une ouverture orientée vers le bas entre les pattes, laquelle ouverture se referme, en position activée, au-dessous de l'élément de fixation et permet de fixer les pattes de l'élément pied sur l'élément de fixation par action de serrage.
