Abstract

Force-limiting device especially for safety belts comprising a device for retracting (2) the belt strap (3), integral with one of the ends of an anchoring wall (15). Said force-limiting device consists of a metal plate (10), its ends having securing lugs (12, 12') joined together by an intermediate connection which can be torn by a pulling force F transmitted to a securing lug (12) of said plate (10). The device is characterized in that said plate (10) is located in a housing (20), wherein a surface (17) cooperates in guiding the movement of the retracting device (2) produced by said pulling force F.
