Abstract

A screw cap, especially one made of plastic, for closing a bottle or the like, with a cylindrical threaded section having a female thread to be screwed on the male thread of a bottle-neck, connected to the security ring via break points, on which there are inwardly-directed catches to engage with an outer collar on a bottle-neck. The free edge (14) of the cylindrical part (3) has at least one axial projection (15) which engages positively in a recess (17) in the opposite edge of the security ring (11) in the circumferential direction and releasably in the axial direction. This positive toothing ensures that, when the screw cap is first screwed on the neck of a bottle, the webs (10) are not sheared off by increased torques which can be applied if the catches run on the outer collar of the bottle-neck under tension.

Description

Schraubkappe, insbesondere aus Kunststoff, zum Verschließen einer Flasche oder dergleichen Screw cap, in particular made of plastic, for closing a bottle or the like
The invention relates to a screw cap of the type mentioned in the preamble of claim 1 for closing a bottle or the like.
From DE 41 08 453 AI a screw cap of the type in question is known, in which the inward locking projections are hook-shaped, so that when the screw cap is first screwed onto the external thread of a bottle neck, the locking projections are arranged behind one for security purposes on the bottle neck , snap the outer bead. When unscrewing the screw cap, the hook-shaped locking projections hold the retaining ring behind the outer bead on the bottle neck, so that the predetermined breaking points formed by thin webs between the retaining ring and the cylindrical part of the screw cap tear off and the retaining ring thus remains on the bottle neck. This ensures originality by holding the locking ring loosely on the bottle neck after screwing the screw cap back on. This makes it easy for everyone to see that the bottle has already been opened.
A disadvantage of this known screw cap is that a relatively large torque is required if the hook-shaped locking projections on the Circlip can be moved over the outer bead on the bottle neck. Because of this increased torque, there is the danger that the predetermined breaking points formed by the thin webs between the locking ring and the cylindrical part of the screw cap will be sheared off when screwing on, so that subsequently the locking ring will loosely rest on the neck of the bottle sits, just as it does when the bottle is first opened and then closed again. The originality of the bottle contents is therefore not recognizable or guaranteed.
The invention has for its object to provide a screw cap of the type in question, in which the risk of tearing off the predetermined breaking points between the cylindrical part of the screw cap and the locking ring is reduced when screwing on for the first time.
The object on which the invention is based is achieved by the teaching specified in the characterizing part of claim 1. The basic idea of this teaching is to positively connect the cylindrical part of the screw cap and the locking ring in the circumferential direction, but releasably in the screwing direction. By interlocking the opposing edges of the cylindrical part and the locking ring, large torques can be transmitted without mutual rotation of the two parts, so that there is no danger that the predetermined breaking points connecting the locking ring in the original state with the cylindrical part of the screw cap will shear off or be demolished.
The projection and the recess are expediently rectangular, a plurality of projections and recesses being advantageously provided, which preferably engage in a meandering manner. In principle, the webs can be located anywhere, for example there, where there are no projections and recesses. The predetermined breaking points are expediently located between surfaces of the projections and recesses which adjoin one another in the circumferential direction. The predetermined breaking points can also be formed by webs arranged between the projections and recesses. The toothing expediently extends over the entire circumference.
The invention will be explained in more detail with reference to the drawing.
Fig. 1 zeigt einen Axialschnitt durch ein Ausfüh¬ rungsbeispiel einer Schraubkappe gemäß der Erfindung, zusammen mit einem zugehörigen Hals einer Flasche, Fig. 2 ist eine vergrößerte Ansicht II in Fig. 1,1 shows an axial section through an exemplary embodiment of a screw cap according to the invention, together with an associated neck of a bottle, FIG. 2 is an enlarged view II in FIG. 1,
Zwischen dem Boden 2 und einer Stirnkante 7 des Flaschen¬ halses 6 befindet sich eine Dichtung 8.Fig. 1 shows a screw cap 1 made of plastic according to an embodiment of the invention. It has a base 2 and a cylindrical screw part 3 with an internal thread 4 for screwing onto an external thread 5 of a bottle neck 6, which is only partially shown. A seal 8 is located between the base 2 and an end edge 7 of the bottle neck 6.
A lower edge 9 of the cylindrical part 3 is connected via webs 10 to a locking ring 11 which has locking projections 12 on the inside which, in the screwed-on state shown, engage an outer bead 13 on the bottle neck 6.
Fig. 2 zeigt eine Ansicht II in Fig. 1. From this it can be seen that a lower edge 14 of the cylindrical part 3 has rectangular projections 15 which engage flush in corresponding recesses 16 in the locking ring 11. Between the projections 15 and the bottom of the recesses 11, an intermediate space 17 is formed, in which the webs 10 are arranged, which attach the locking ring 11 hold the cylindrical part.
When screwing on a screw cap 1 according to FIG. 1 for the first time, the projections 15 shown in FIG. 2 ensure that the locking ring 11 is also taken along without mutual movement when a greater torque occurs, which is the case when the locking projections 12 slide onto the outer bead 13 and move over it under tension. As a result, the thin webs 10 are secured against shearing off or tearing off during the screwing-on process.
The projections 15 need only lie against the edge of the recesses 16 opposite in the screwing-on direction, but not necessarily in the opposite direction, the unscrewing direction. There, e.g. B. in the area between surfaces 18, 19 and surfaces 20, 21 indicated by dashed lines, hatching points 22, 23 can then be arranged which serve the same purpose as the webs 10 forming the predetermined breaking points, which can then be omitted .
