Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a device for pic ⁇ ture display, and more specifically to a device according to the preamble of appended claim 1.
  • One concept means that the pictures are arranged in special files, which are moved in a closed path, includ ⁇ ing a display run and a waiting run.
  • a file When a file is to be conveyed along the display run, it is hooked on to a con ⁇ veyor, often being a chain, which is in constant motion and which moves the file through the display run and back to the waiting run, where the file is unhooked.
  • the file is conveyed by another conveyor through the waiting run.
  • This concept is quite complicated and requires seve ⁇ ral conveyors and several motors, or one motor and seve ⁇ ral gears.
  • Another concept is to arrange the pictures in pockets on a web.
  • the web with the pictures is wound on a first reel.
  • the web When displaying the pictures, the web is unwound from the first reel and wound on a second reel, the pictures passing through a display run.
  • the web To be able to how the pictures again, the web must either be reversed or first be rewound at a high speed on the first reel and then be displayed by again winding the web on the second reel.
  • This constructional concept also yields a device having poor flexibility and permitting, in actual prac ⁇ tice, the use of one picture size only. Furthermore, changing pictures is time-consuming. Also, it is not possible to display pictures in more than one direction at a time.

  • the above-mentioned type of carrier tends to move or "travel" along the reels or rollers, i.e. in the axial direction thereof. Such a movement is advantageously pre ⁇ vented with the aid of the flange, or the flanges accord ⁇ ing to one embodiment of the invention.
  • Another embodiment of the device according to the invention is characterised in that at least one of the rollers is resiliently biased with a certain force for stretching the web.
  • Yet another embodiment of the invention is charac- terised in that the drive means comprises six rollers which are arranged in two groups with three rollers in each group, the three rollers of each group forming the corners of a triangle, the web passing alternatingly on one and the other side of the three rollers so as to form two legs of the triangle, and that at least one of the rollers is driven for moving the web in an endless path.
