Abstract

Procédé permettant de produire à partir de copeaux de métal réfractaire un produit particulaire propre à base de copeaux de métal réfractaire. On produit les particules de copeaux avec un produit réfrigérant dont la température est inférieure à 680 °C pour empêcher la formation d'oxydes et de nitrures de métal réfractaire. On broye lesdites particules pour réduire la grosseur particulaire des copeaux et pour libérer le produit réfrigérant résiduel. On lave les copeaux broyés dans un bain mobile pour éliminer la majeure partie du produit refroidissant, puis dans un contre-courant pour éliminer sensiblement tous les constituants du produit réfrigérant afin d'obtenir des particules de copeaux propres. On peut ensuite confirmer ces particules de copeaux propres sous forme de briquettes et les fritter à des pressions élevées ou bien les mélanger à un sel haloïde de métal réfractaire de métal alcalin, les comprimer en briquettes copeaux/sel à des pressions élevées et les sécher. Les briquettes ainsi produites sont non pyrophores.
