With this aggregate it is possible to delimb ab. 7 metres from the butt. With longer trees, a wanted lenght of the tree is cut and the butt log taken off from between the jaws. Then the top end log or logs are lifted up bewteen the jaws and delimbed. The delimbing forces are strong and, accordingly, the compression of jaws must be sufficient.

Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé d'abattage, d'ébranchage et de débitage d'arbres en grumes pour lequel un ensemble (10) de tronçonnage et d'ébranchage est monté à l'extrémité de la flèche d'une grue montée sur un véhicule (1). Dans une première étape, on sectionne et on abat l'arbre (11), puis on déplace le pied de l'arbre vers un dispositif de serrage (2, 3) situé sur le châsis du véhicule ou de la grue. Dans une seconde étape, on ébranche l'arbre en déplaçant l'ensemble (10) d'ébranchage et de tronçonnage le long du tronc, l'arbre étant maintenu dans ledit dispositif de serrage.
