Abstract

L'invention a trait à un procédé et un appareil d'usinage de pièces profilées de forme allongée. Le procédé prévoit que les pièces (1) à travailler sont transférées une par une d'un poste d'usinage (2...10) à l'autre, de manière à être façonnées aux côtes voulues par les différentes machines. Les pièces à façonner (1) sont transférées dans leur sens longitudinal selon un cheminement continu le long du poste de travail. Elles sont usinées par une série d'unités de travail (2...10) qui sont adaptées pour être transférables entre une position libre et une position travail, de telle sorte que chaque unité en position travail ne sert qu'à façonner une seule forme de profil sur la pièce qui défile le long du poste de travail. En disposant en un seul poste de travail autant d'unités (2...10) en série que le nombre de formes de profils différentes, ou de combinaisons de telles formes, que l'on veut obtenir, il est possible de sélectionner toutes les formes de profils voulues en positionnant chacune des unités de travail sur sa position libre ou sur sa position de travail.
