Abstract

The present hatchery for raising and keeping crustaceans and fishes has highly modular and compact features, is structurally based on forming a plurality of rectangular and longitudinally juxtaposed modules (1), provided with tight compartments (5), independent to each other, designed to house specimens. The water serving these compartments (5) is continually or periodically renewed, purified and oxygenated, due to the existence of independent ducts for water adduction, oxygen injection and individual channels for residues and organic dejections drainage, allowing thus a complete insulation of waste from each specimen relating to the other ones, in any operational condition, said hatchery further having a moveable feeding device (36), totally independent of the specimen's raising structure, providing, through its insertion into said raising hatchery, a rational provision of nutrients and food to all specimens housed in compartments (5) constituting said hatchery.

United States Patent n 4.559 9∅2, which comprises a reservoir p rovided with tubings and valves to control the hydraulic flow and oxygenation, wherein horizontal plates provided with orifices are disposed, these plates having walls to delimit compartments for housing the specimens
The apparatuses and systems in the above mentioned patents aim the raising of specimens is isolated compartments, however, they present inconvenients that hamper and in-pair the development of said raising, the following being cited.
Although the specimens are kept alone in each compartment, water flowing through several compartments is always the same, bringing about a greater probability of propagating infections which could decimate the raising,
The apparatuses characterised in the above mentioned patents have a low modular structure, especially concerning the housing of specimens, making difficult their handling and access,
Poor visibility of what is happening inside tne compartments, avoiding an easy observation of the specimens behavior and development,
Poor food and nutrients supply, since the same are admitted in a nonhomogeneous way through the compartments, favouring specimes closer to the feeding points and depriving those farther from theses points, net supplying many specimens, and
High amount of man-hour for tasks such as supplying the specimens and maintenance of equipments, rousing operatrional costs and times not feasible in large scale production
