Abstract

The cardboard box includes tear lines (L1, L2) formed on its top wall (1) and between this wall and two opposite side walls (5), said tear lines consisting of small, weak cardboard bridges (11, 12, 18, 19) separating relatively long incisions or cleanly precut lines (13, 15, 16, 17). This box can hold various objects such as bottles and can be opened and closed without altering its appearance or its strength.

Description

"Cardboard box of the type wrapped around objects to be packaged".

The present invention essentially relates to an enveloping cardboard box, that is to say of the type wound around the objects to be packaged which can be for example bottles or cases containing these bottles.

Wrapping cardboard boxes have already been proposed made from a strip or the like of folding cardboard around the objects to be packaged in order to constitute a substantially parallel lepipedic package comprising in particular a top wall consisting of. _. two parts or flaps connected along a breaking line to allow the opening of the box and connected to two opposite side walls of the box along yet another breaking line.

Generally, the rupture line on the top wall of the box is formed by a strip or tab of tear-off cardboard, while the rupture lines connecting the top wall to two opposite side walls of the box are generally made by perforations. close together formed by small slits or dotted lines.

However, the tearing of the cardboard strip allowing the crate to be opened from above and the subsequent tearing of the perforation lines between the upper wall and the side walls of the crate, made said crate, after opening, unsuitable for reuse subsequent, in particular due to the unsightly appearance of the box once opened, difficulties in storing in good conditions and the alteration of the inscriptions or drawings printed on the box, the opening of which is, by elsewhere, often difficult and slow.

The above problems arise more particularly in the case of cases intended for export which must undergo multiple openings in order, for example, to satisfy specific obligations relating to the special regulations of each country of destination. Thus, the customs services in particular, are called upon to intervene regularly, either for the affixing of tax stamps in accordance with the regulations of the country concerned, or, more generally, for any other control.

This therefore requires an easy and rapid opening of the boxes without altering the aesthetics, it being understood that said boxes must be able to be reused thereafter while retaining their original appearance and structure as well as possible.

The present invention achieves these goals by proposing an improved cardboard box which can be opened quickly and without difficulty and which, after opening, regains its exact structure and initial appearance so as to pose no problem of re-use since its initial solidity is not altered.

To this end, the subject of the invention is an enveloping cardboard box of the type comprising a foldable cardboard strip around the objects to be packaged to form a substantially parallelepipedic package comprising in particular a top wall consisting of at least two parts or flaps connected along a breaking line to allow the opening of the body and connected to two opposite side walls of the body along another breaking line, characterized in that at the intersection of the breaking line between said flaps with the two breaking lines between these flaps and said opposite side walls of the box, a small frangible cardboard bridge or first bridge is provided separating frank pre-cut lines extending along at least part of the length of said lines a break.

It will also be specified here that the frank precut line extending along the line of rupture between the two flaps of the top wall of the box is interrupted by at least one other small bridge of frangible cardboard.

The cardboard box according to this invention is • characterized by still a small frangible ca.rton bridge provided at the ends of the frank cutting line extending from and on each side of the aforementioned first bridge along the breaking line between the aforementioned flaps and the opposite side walls of the box, this small bridge connecting a flap to a flap forming part of the opposite side walls of the box.

According to yet another characteristic of the invention, on the breaking line between the flaps of the top wall of the body is provided, preferably in the middle part, a pre-notched area whose knockout facilitates the opening of the body , in particular in the case of reuse of said box.

According to a preferred embodiment, the frank precut line extending along the line of rupture between the aforementioned flaps on either side of the pre-notched area between this area and the aforementioned first bridge is interrupted by two small bridges spaced and frangible cardboard dividing said line frank precut so that it consists of three notches of relatively large length.

It is therefore understood that the opening of the box caused by the rupture of all the aforementioned small bridges and between which are provided frank pre-cuts or notches of relatively large length, will in no way risk altering the structure and / or the aesthetics of the body which can therefore be reused without any inconvenience.

However, other advantages and characteristics of the invention will appear more clearly in the detailed description which follows and refers to the appended drawings. given only by way of example, and in which.

FIG. 3 is a perspective view of the box closed after prior opening, that is to say after breaking the small holding bridges on the breaking line of the top wall of the box and on the breaking lines between this top wall and two opposite side walls of the body.

We see in Figure 1 a strip of cardboard C provided with notches E on two opposite sides and having a number of fold lines materialized by dotted lines T drawn, for clarity, outside the strip of cardboard C . This strip of cardboard C can be wrapped around any object to be wrapped to form a parallelepipedic box-shaped package which can be seen clearly in FIGS. 2 and 3.

The box is made by folding, folding and gluing the various panels to form the cardboard strip C.

As is seen in Figures 1 and 2. This crate comprises a top wall 1, a bottom wall _3> two opposite side walls 4, and two opposite side walls 5 which ^s' are each constituted by four flaps assembled by gluing and namely a flap 6 secured to the bottom wall 3. a flap 7 secured to the top section 1. and two flaps 8 respectively secured to the two opposite side walls 4. As can be understood by referring to the FIG. 2, these last two flaps 8 extend orthogonally to the two flaps 7.

There is shown at 9 in Figures 1 and 2, a small flap which is glued to one of the opposite side walls 4 at the end of assembly of the box. An adhesive strip 10 optionally bearing inscriptions can be applied to the two opposite lateral walls 5 of the box at the end of wrapping of the cardboard strip C around the objects and after hot gluing of the flaps 6, 7 to the flaps 8.

These two flaps are connected to the two opposite lateral walls 5, and more precisely to the flaps 7 of the walls 5 along another rupture line generally identified in L ₂ in FIGS. 1 and 2. According to the invention, a small frangible cardboard bridge 11 is provided at the intersection of the breaking line L- with the two breaking lines L _? . The two small bridges 11 separate frank precut lines which will be described in detail below and which extend from this small bridge both along the rupture line L. that along the breaking line L _? .

Another small frangible cardboard bridge 12 is provided at the ends of a line, this frank cutout 13 extending on either side of each small bridge 11 along the rupture line L_ „. In other words, each flap 7 is connected to the wall this top 1 of the body by only three small bridges, namely a bridge 11 and two bridges 12, it being understood that between the bridge 11 and the two bridges 12, there is a cutout frank or notch 13 of relatively great length.

14 has been shown in Figures 1 and 2 a pre-notched area, for example circular, located on the breaking line. of the top wall 1 of the box, preferably in the middle part ^'of said line. This pre-notched area 14 may facilitate the opening of the box, as will be described later.

According to the example of embodiment shown, the breaking line L- is made up, on either side of the pre-notched area 14, of three cutting lines or frank cuts identified at 15, 16 and 17 in FIGS. 1 and 2 and which have a relatively large length.

More specifically, the notch 15 extends between the small bridge 11 and another small bridge 18 of frangible cardboard between the two flaps 1a, 1b. The notch 16 extends between the small bridge 18 and yet another small bridge of frangible cardboard 19 between the flaps 1a, 1b that the top wall 1. And the notch 17 extends between the small bridge 19 and the circular area 14 pre-notched and delimited by small close perforations 14a.

In view of the above, it is understood that the box which has just been described will be correctly and securely kept closed during handling or transport, but that the opening of this box can be carried out in an easy manner and clean due to the breaking of all small bridges cardboard frangible, without damaging the body since there will be no -Effect tear, ^'so that said body will not lose its aesthetic or its initial form qualities for possible re-use.

However, for a better understanding of the invention, the operations of opening and closing the box will be described below with particular reference to FIGS. 2 and 3.

It will first be observed that the machine winding of the cardboard strip C around the objects to be packaged to make the box, will not risk causing the separation of the flaps la, 1b or of the flaps 7, since these elements are maintained correctly and securely attached to the remaining part of the strip by the small bridges 11, 12, 18 and 19 judiciously distributed.

The body being closed, as can be seen in FIG. 2, it will suffice for the user who wants to open it to pass his hand through the precuts or lateral notches 13 to cause the small retaining bridges 11, 12, 18 to yield. and 19 and thus, realize, in somehow automatically, opening that the checkout.

It will then be possible to carry out a new closure of this box using a simple adhesive strip, as seen in 20 in Figure 3- This new closure will be particularly clean, clean and resistant due to the sharp cuts 13, 15, 16 and 17 and ruptures located at the aforementioned small cardboard bridges. In other words, contrary to what was the case with the previous cases, it will be possible to obtain a closure with completely contiguous edges along the lines L. and L ~.

It will also be observed here that the circular area 14 started by the perforations 14a will have given way during this first opening, which will allow the easy passage of a cutting tool or simply a nail during the second opening.

Thus, according to the invention, an enveloping cardboard box has been produced which can undergo successive opening and closing operations without causing damage to the cardboard which is likely to harm its aesthetics and its good resistance during a new use.

Of course, the invention is in no way limited to the embodiment described and illustrated, which has been given only by way of example.

Thus, the number of small frangible bridges can be variable depending for example on the dimensions of the body, on the condition that these small bridges define between them pre-cuts or sharp cuts having a relatively large length to preserve in particular the aesthetics and the body structure after opening and closing again.

This means that the invention includes all the technical equivalents of the means described and their combinations if these are carried out according to the spirit.
