- the invention relates to electrical connectors having a plug and a base which can be coupled to one another by pushing in and carrying cooperating contacts, provided with locking means comprising a fork lever whose branches rotate on one of the elements (base or , more frequently, plug) around an axis transverse to the direction of insertion and have claws which engage on a ramp formed on the other element (plug or, more frequently, base) when the lever swings around of its axis in a direction bringing it onto the element which carries it.
- Connectors of the type defined above have already been proposed in which the tilting of the lever, relatively easy to effect by hand tightening of the lever-plug assembly, finishes pushing the plug in and locks it. But these connectors only very partially solve the problem, because the extraction must still be done by pulling on the plug, after rotation of the lever to unlock it. Furthermore, many of the existing connectors of the type defined above are liable to loosen under the effect of axial or transverse vibrations.
- the invention aims to provide a connector of the type defined above in which an action on a lever makes it possible to carry out not only the locking and unlocking, but also the insertion and the extraction of the plug and which, moreover, guarantees that the complete plug-in is maintained even in the event of intense vibrations.
- each branch of the fork comprises, in addition to the locking claw intended to come to bear on the ramp oriented so that the tilting of the lever brings the plug and the socket closer together, an additional finger intended to rest on a ramp oriented in the opposite direction to the first, having a profile such that the separation of the lever from its locking position exerts a tending force to separate the plug from the socket.
