Description
The present invention relates to a cleaning broom. In premises protected against microbial infections or dust, such as for example hospitals or factories in the agro-food, pharmaceutical industry or in advanced sectors, the cleaning of the soil must meet very severe constraints resulting from the serious consequences which may result from microbial contamination or the presence of dust. It is not enough just to destroy microbes or eliminate dust, it is also important and above all not to transport them from one protected area to another.
For this type of cleaning, there are currently brushes on the head of which are fixed interchangeable cleaning means, such as fabrics with fringes or gauze, possibly impregnated with disinfectant. In some of these brushes, the handle is integral with the head but in others, more particularly intended for cleaning floors, the handle is articulated on the head, which has a flat bottom surface. This type of brush has the major drawback of forcing the user to touch the head and the cleaning means with the hands when replacing the latter. However, for example in a hospital, if the cleaning means is changed between each of the rooms, on the other hand, the head of the broom is not disinfected. As a result, in addition to the risks of contamination of the user himself, the protection against microbial proliferation by action carried out is defective.
To overcome this drawback, brushes include a head made removable from the handle by appropriate means. The control members for the opening of these means are located near the head of the brush and intended to be actuated either by the hand or by the foot of the user. There is therefore here also contact between the latter and the head of the broom, which does not solve the problem of microbial proliferation. In other brushes, the head and the handle each comprise complementary means which snap into each other. This type of removable connection is also inappropriate since it forces the head of the broom to be held with a foot at the same time as an axial pull is exerted on the handle in order to separate it from the head. Existing brushes do not provide perfect protection against microbial proliferation and, in the case of hospitals, many patients are infected with infections contracted in the hospital even.
The present invention aims to remedy this shortcoming by providing a brush capable of destroying microbes and eliminating dust while effectively preventing them from being transported from one protected area to another, this brush having to remain simple and convenient. to use, easy to manufacture and at a moderate cost price.
To this end, the broom according to the invention, of the type comprising a handle and a removable head comprising a cleaning means, is equipped with means for fixing the head to the handle allowing both their attachment and their separation without any head-user contact is not required.
Thus, the cleaning means is not contaminated by the hands of the user when hanging the head on the handle and this same means does not contaminate the hands of the user during the separation of the head and of the handle, which effectively prevents any transport of microbes or dust from one protected area to another.
Advantageously, said fixing means are shaped so as to allow articulation of the handle relative to the head when the handle and the head are assembled to each other, so that the brush can be used with a head having a surface flat floor contact particularly suitable for cleaning large areas of existing floors in hospitals or industrial premises.
According to one embodiment of these fixing means, one of the ends of the handle is integral with a suction cup which is fixed on a smooth surface which comprises the head of the brush, the suction cup being connected to a stop means provided for allow it to be vented when actuated by the user in the direction of its opening.
Thus, the attachment of the handle to the head is carried out simply by bringing the lip of the suction cup in contact with the smooth surface of the head and by exerting on the handle an axial pressure in the direction of the latter in order to cause depression. of the suction cup, the separation being carried out quite simply by opening the stop means. The broom thus shaped is particularly simple and inexpensive to manufacture, and convenient to use. According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the handle is tubular and is tightly connected to the suction cup, the stop means being constituted by a valve, normally held in position closed and which is located at the end of the handle opposite to that carrying the suction cup, the internal wall of the end of the handle constituting the seat of the valve and a frustoconical plug forming the movable member. Advantageously, the suction cup has the shape of a bellows, which makes it possible, even when it is under vacuum, to make multidirectionally the orientation of the handle of the brush relative to the head.
According to an advantageous characteristic of the invention, the head has the shape of an elongated rectangle and the smooth surface which it comprises extends over its entire length.
The handle can thus be fixed off-center with respect to the head and in particular near its shortest edges, which is particularly convenient for sweeping under furniture with the least effort.
This allows the broom according to the invention to be perfectly ergonomic.
Figure 1 en est une vue en perspective éclatée ; etIn any case, the invention will be clearly understood with the aid of the description which follows, with reference to the appended schematic drawing representing, as a non-limiting example, a preferred embodiment of the brush according to the invention. Figure 1 is an exploded perspective view; and
The figures show a brush 1 consisting of a handle 2 and a head 3.
Le bouchonThe handle 2 is tubular and equipped, at one 2a of its ends, with a bellows-shaped suction cup, which is fixed therein in a sealed manner, for example by gluing. The other end 2b of the handle 2 comprises a valve 8 whose movable member is constituted by a plug 5 and whose seat is constituted by the internal wall of the end 2b. The plug 5, which has a frustoconical shape and is made of elastic synthetic material, is partially engaged inside the handle 2. The plug 5 is connected to one end of a helical spring 6, the other end of which is connected to a pin 7 diametrically crossing the handle 2. The plug
5 comporte une extrémité supérieure élargie 5a. Une poignée de préhension5 has an enlarged upper end 5a. A grip handle
La face supérieure du corps 3a est lisse et équipée de dispositifs creux 11 en matière synthétique élastique, dont la face supé¬ rieure comprend des fentes 12 délimitant des pattes d'accrochage l ia permettant la fixation éventuelle .d'une gaze stérile par introduction d'une partie de celle-ci entre les pattes Ha, dont la déformation élastique assure l'accrochage de la gaze.9, made of elastic synthetic material, covers the end 2b. the head 3 is constituted by a body 3a in the shape of an elongated rectangle, made of injected flexible synthetic material trapping in its mass one of the ends of the fringes 10, the other end of which protrudes of body 3a. The upper face of the body 3a is smooth and equipped with hollow devices 11 made of elastic synthetic material, the upper face of which comprises slots 12 delimiting attachment lugs l ia allowing possible attachment of a sterile gauze by introduction of 'a part of it between the legs Ha, whose elastic deformation ensures the attachment of the gauze.
To attach the handle 2 to the head 3, it suffices to bring the lip a to the suction cup • in contact with the smooth upper face of the head 3 and to exert an axial pressure on the handle 2 in the direction of head 3 in order to put the suction cup in depression. The latter can be fixed at any point on this smooth face. To achieve the separation of the handle 2 and the head 3, it suffices to exert traction on the plug 5, the manual gripping of which is facilitated by its enlarged upper end 5a, so as to counteract the action of the spring 6 in order to put the suction cup k- in the open air.
It goes without saying that the invention is not limited to the embodiment described above by way of example. On the contrary, it embraces all variants based on the same principle and which differs from it only by differences in detail. Thus, with regard to the embodiment of the invention described above, the handle may not be tubular, the stop means being able to be located either directly on the suction cup or on the handle and connected to the suction cup by a hose. The stop means can be constituted by a valve which can be of different types such as for example ball or needle, or by a tap. Furthermore, according to another embodiment of the invention, the suction cup could be replaced by an electromagnet, consisting of two complementary parts carried one by the handle, the other by the head, this electromagnet being powered by a battery fixed to the handle, the latter being provided with an electric switch, a ball joint can be provided to articulate the handle.
Whatever the embodiment of the invention and in particular one or other of the embodiments of the invention indicated above, the head may advantageously be constituted by a body of synthetic or natural material trapping in its mass one of the ends of fringes whose other end projects from the body. The flexibility of the body thus shaped makes it possible to wash the head of the broom in the machine. The means of fixing the head to the handle may not apply directly to the body of the head of the broom, but on a support plate articulated on it in at least one direction, which facilitates the relative movements of the handle and the head of the broom. The head may include a wide variety of cleaning means such as woven or non-woven gauzes, disposable, impregnated or not, flat washing fringes, synthetic, natural or mixed, the fringes can be fixed to the body by any means and in particular by sewing. In addition, the broom can be equipped with a reservoir of disinfectant liquid pressurized by appropriate means, the reservoir being connected by a hose to a spray nozzle fixed to or near the head.
