Abstract

Est décrit un procédé de traitement d'images permettant le stockage et l'affichage hiérarchique d'images numériques à haute résolution dans un environnement à usage multiple. Le procédé rend des versions de résolution réduites de l'image originale disponibles pour un affichage rapide sur des écrans vidéos, tout en permettant l'accès à l'image de pleine résolution, afin de produire des tirages de qualité photographique. Ce procédé multirésolution permet également le stockage efficace des données résultant de l'emploi de ce procédé, par l'intermédiaire d'un code hybride. Plusieurs modes de réalisation du procédé sont décrit.
