Abstract

Described is a dye-spray generator (10) comprising dye (18) in a pressure-tight container (16), a propellant gas being dissolved under high pressure in the dye. Associated with the container (16) is an explosive charge (38) by means of which the container (16) is destroyed and the dye torn into individual particles. The particles of dye disintegrate further into fine droplets under the action of the bubbles of propellant gas which form inside them when the pressure is released, and deposit on a surface which is to be marked.
