Abstract

The invention relates to a disposable hygenic bag for collecting dog dejecta. The bag has a semi-rigid peripheral wall (2), an upper opening (5) and a sealed flexible base (3). Its upper edge (6) is provided with fixation means (7) making it possible to close off the opening (5) after use. The bag can be folded into a flat shape. During use, it has a cylindrical form so that it can be placed under the dog's hind-quarters in order to receive its dejecta.

Description

HYGIENIC BAG FOR DOG DEJECTIONS

The present invention relates to a hygienic bag for collecting faeces from a dog, comprising a peripheral wall provided with an upper edge surrounding an opening of the bag, and a lower end provided with a sealed bottom connected to the peripheral wall.

To avoid leaving dog droppings in places where they are annoying, in particular on sidewalks or public walks, it is known to use flexible disposable sachets, which are threaded on one hand to pick up the droppings and that we then return to wrap it before closing the bag and throwing it away. However, such a pickup disgusts some people who, therefore, are tempted to leave their dog's droppings where it should not be. Aside from the progress needed in dog training, it would be desirable to have hygienic bags to collect droppings before they fall to the ground.

By German patent n ° 93 923 there is known a type of bag intended to receive the droppings of a draft animal, in particular of a horse, this bag being suspended from the harness so that its upper opening is located below from the animal's anus. A bag and a binding of this kind are not possible on a dog.

US Patent No. 3,937,509 describes a device for picking up droppings on the body and comprising a rigid cylindrical container equipped with a handle and lined with a disposable bag of flexible synthetic material.

If necessary, this device can also be used to collect droppings when they are emitted, by placing it under the hindquarters of the dog. However, the device is too bulky for a dog owner to keep it constantly on hand.

This is why the present invention aims to provide an improved hygienic bag, having a very small footprint when empty and which can be placed at the appropriate time under the hindquarters of a dog. to collect its droppings, then closed for hygienic disposal of the droppings.

For this purpose, the invention provides a bag of the type specified in the preamble, characterized in that the peripheral wall is a semi-rigid wall and capable of being placed in at least two different configurations comprising a flattened configuration; in which the wall is folded, and an open configuration in which the wall has a substantially cylindrical shape giving it sufficient rigidity so that the bag is stable when it is standing on its lower end, and in that at least one part of the upper edge is provided with fixing means arranged to fix one to the other two parts of this edge to close the opening of the bag when the peripheral wall has a flattened configuration near this edge. Preferably, the bag will be produced in an inexpensive form in order to be disposable.

In a preferred embodiment, said fixing means comprise a layer of pressure-sensitive adhesive. The adhesive layer can be placed on an inner face of a tongue extending along at least part of said upper edge. Preferably, in the open configuration, said tongue has a folded position inside the bag, so that the layer of adhesive is facing the interior surface of the peripheral wall. The adhesive layer can be covered with a removable protective sheet.

In another embodiment, said fastening means comprise at least one pair of mutually complementary hooking members arranged on opposite parts of the upper edge.

The bottom of the bag can be flexible. On the other hand, the bottom may include at least one preformed fold line, arranged along a diameter of the bottom.

In the preferred embodiment illustrated in Figures I to 3, the hygienic bag, generally designated by the reference 1, comprises a tubular peripheral wall 2 of semi-rigid synthetic material, a sealed bottom 3 of synthetic material, connected to the wall peripheral 2 over its entire periphery <* <*, and an upper opening 5 delimited by the upper edge 6 of the wall 2. 8 of a pressure sensitive adhesive. The peripheral wall 2 of semi-rigid synthetic material is relatively flexible and it is provided with two longitudinal fold lines 9 making it easy to give it the flattened configuration shown in FIG. 2. For its part, the bottom 3 is provided with a preformed fold line 10 going from one fold line 9 to the other, so that, in the folded configuration of FIG. 2, the bottom 3 is folded into two halves folded against each other.

For its use, the bag 1 can be put in the open configuration shown in FIG. 1, where its peripheral wall 2 has a cylindrical shape. This shape gives it sufficient rigidity so that the bag remains stable and open when placed on the ground in an upright position. At this stage, the tongue 7 is preferably left in its initial folded position inside the bag, so that the layer of adhesive 8 is protected between this tongue and the peripheral wall 2. When a

Figures 4 and 5 are partial views similar to Figure 2 and show hygienic bags 1 having, in place of the tongue 7, other fasteners for closing the bag. In the example of FIG. 4, half the length of the upper edge 6 of the peripheral wall 2 is provided with a folding tongue 12 having, on its inner face, a layer of adhesive 13 coated with a protective strip. removable 14. To close the bag 1, the strip 14 is torn off and the tongue 12 is folded over the opposite part of the edge 6, in order to stick it to a corresponding external surface 15 of the wall 2.

In the example of FIG. 5, there is also provided a tongue 12 which can be folded down on the surface 15 but the adhesive 13 is replaced by pairs of complementary fastening members 16 and 17 disposed respectively on the tongue 12 and on the surface 15. These members 16 and 17 can be, for example, push-button fasteners, or hook-and-loop strips of the "Velcro" type, or other hooking members of known type.

The present invention is not limited to the embodiments described above by way of examples, but on the contrary extends to all modifications or variants obvious to a person skilled in the art. In particular, it is possible to provide an open configuration different from the cylindrical shape, for example of polygonal or almond-shaped cross section. The bag can be made of any suitable material, for example in

1. Hygienic bag for collecting faeces from a dog, comprising a peripheral wall (2) provided with an upper edge surrounding an opening (5) of the bag, and a lower end provided with a sealed bottom (3) connected to the peripheral wall, characterized in that the peripheral wall (2) is a semi-rigid wall and capable of being placed in at least two different configurations comprising a flat configuration, in which the wall is folded, and an open configuration in which the wall has a substantially cylindrical shape giving it sufficient rigidity so that the bag (1) is stable when it is standing on its lower end, and in that at least part of the upper edge (6) is provided with fixing means (7, 8, 12, 13, 16, 17) arranged to fix two parts of this edge to each other to close the opening of the bag when the peripheral wall (2) has a flattened configuration with near this edge.

2. Hygienic bag according to claim I, characterized in that said fixing means comprise a layer of adhesive (8, 13) sensitive to pressure.

3. Hygienic bag according to claim 2, characterized in that the adhesive layer (8, 13) is placed on an inner face of a tongue (7, 12) extending along at least part of said upper edge (6).
