Abstract

Dans un système élastique comportant un élément élastique annulaire (114, 118) constitué d'un matériau composite, des fibres élastiques enroulées en continu sous forme de bobine sont noyées dans un matériau matriciel. Ces fibres sont de préférence des fibres de verre haute ténacité ou des fibres synthétiques hautes performances. Les forces externes (F) agissant sur le système élastique sont démultipliées, et après déflexion, agissent radialement sur l'élément élastique (114, 118). Par suite, ce dernier est étiré dans le sens périphérique conjointement avec les fibres. La démultiplication et la déflexion des forces s'effectuent de préférence par des moyens hydrauliques sous haute pression. Un système d'étanchéité spécial est prévu à cet effet. Une capacité d'emmagasinage d'énergie extrêmement élevée par unité de volume est obtenue grâce à l'emploi de fibres hautes performances et grâce à l'exploitation optimale du matériau par suite des contraintes de traction essentiellement prédominantes. Ce système à ressort est un système d'usage général mais peut s'utiliser dans des applications spéciales telles que l'accumulation d'énergie à hautes performances pour des opérations de serrage sur des broches rotatives de machines-outils et comme suspension pour protéger des ouvrages contre les tremblements de terre.
