Description

The invention relates to a parking barrier of the type comprising an element in the form of an arch, the legs of which are articulated at their free end to devices anchored to the ground, so as to allow a pivoting movement of the arch between a position lowered, advantageously pressed to the ground, and a raised position and, if necessary, a hoop locking leg in its raised position, variable in length and articulated at one end to the hoop and by its other end to a device anchored to the ground, at a location distant from the straight line connecting the two articulation devices of the legs of the arch.
Parking barriers of this type are already known. To bring them from their lowered position to the ground in their raised position, you have to bend down and raise them by hand. In addition, once unlocked in their raised position, they pivot in their lowered position, under the effect of their own weight and thus risk falling on the feet of people who have not removed their feet in time.
The obligation to stoop to the ground to reach the barrier is a serious disadvantage for some people, such as the elderly in general and in particular for whom such a lowering movement is painful. In addition, the person lifting the barrier may get their hands or gloves dirty when the barrier in contact with the ground is soiled with dust and earth.
The invention aims to overcome these drawbacks. To achieve this object, the barrier according to the invention comprises means for returning the hoop to its raised position.
In a first advantageous embodiment of the invention, the return means are formed by at least one elastically deformable member mounted in one leg of the arch, bearing at its ends against the latter and the device anchored to the ground, so to be elastically deformed when the barrier is pivoted to its lowered position.
According to an advantageous characteristic, the elastically deformable member is formed by a helical spring, wound around the axis of articulation of the hoop leg, to the device anchored to the ground.
In another advantageous embodiment of the invention, the return means are formed by a tension spring arranged in the locking leg and fixed by one end to the anchoring device on the ground and at its other end to said leg, the spring being stressed in tension when the barrier is pivoted towards its lowered position.
The invention will be better understood, and other objects, characteristics, details and advantages thereof will appear more clearly during the detailed description which follows, made with reference to the appended schematic drawings given solely by way of example illustrating two embodiments of the invention, and in which:

La figure 2 est une vue en coupe le long de la ligne II-II de la figure 1 ;Figure 2 is a sectional view along the line II-II of Figure 1;

La figure 4 est une vue en coupe le long de la ligne IV-IV de la figure 2 ;Figure 4 is a sectional view along the line IV-IV of Figure 2;
La figure 5 est une vue en coupe le long de la ligne V-V de la figure 1 et montre un deuxième mode de réalisation de l'invention ;Figure 5 is a sectional view along the line V-V of Figure 1 and shows a second embodiment of the invention;
Figures 7 and 8 are sectional views, on a larger scale and show the detail indicated in VII in Figure 5, in respectively raised and lowered positions of the barrier.
La structure de la barrière, qui vient d'être décrite jusqu'ici est connue en soi.FIG. 1 shows in general a parking barrier, which comprises a structure in the form of an arch 1 which is articulated at the free ends of its legs 2 to devices 3 fixed to the ground, in the form of hooves, so that the arch is capable of pivoting around the horizontal axes 4 between a raised position shown in solid lines and a lowered position or the arch is advantageously placed on the ground, as illustrated in broken lines in FIG. 1. The parking barrier further comprises a locking member produced in the form of a leg 5 variable in length, advantageously produced in the form of a telescopic tube. This locking leg is articulated by means of a collar-shaped element 7 to the horizontal part of the barrier. The other end of the locking leg 5 is pivotally mounted around a horizontal axis 8 of a device 9 anchored to the ground and also produced in the form of a shoe. The latter is located at a certain distance from the straight line connecting the two shoes 3. Thus during the pivoting of the arch 1, the telescopic leg 6 varies in length, as is clear from FIG. 1. A lock 10 makes it possible to lock the two telescopic elements of the leg in the raised position of the arch. The structure of the barrier, which has just been described so far, is known per se.
According to the invention, the barrier is provided with means for returning the arch 1 to its raised position. These means prevent the hoop, after having been unlocked using the key 10, from being able to pivot under the effect of its only weight, in its lowered position. These return means also eliminate the obligation to raise the hoop by hand from its lowered position to its raised position.
In the embodiment shown in FIGS. 2 to 4, the return means comprise, advantageously associated with each leg of the arch 1, a helical spring 12 which is wound around the pivot axis 4 housed in the shoe 3 and the ends of which 13, 14 are fixed or retained respectively by the internal surface of the hoop leg and by a member such as a pin 15 secured to the shoe. The spring 12 is arranged in such a way that it arms when the arch 1 is pivoted from its raised position to its lowered position.
The roll bar is lockable in its lowered position, to prevent it from pivoting under the effect of the spring 12 in the direction of its raised position, once pressed against the ground. To this end, provision has been made, in the mode of embodiment shown, at the free end of the leg of the arch 1, a recess 17 in which a ball 18 can partially engage, under the effect of a spring 19 housed in a housing 20 integral with the shoe 2. The housing 20 has at its end opening towards the inside of the shoe 2 a lip-forming part (not shown) for retaining the ball 19 while allowing its movement in the horizontal direction under the effect or against of spring 19.
As shown in Figures 2 and 3, the recess 17 is arranged in the leg of the hoop 1, axially at a certain distance from the pivot axis 4. The housing 20 is placed in the shoe 2 so that the ball 18 can engage in the recess 17, under the effect of the spring 19, when the hoop occupies its lowered position pressed against the ground, illustrated in FIG. 2.
The hoop can be released by exerting on it a sufficient upward drilling so that the ball 18 is pushed against the spring 19 towards the interior of the housing 20 by the appropriately inclined walls of the recess 17. In order to be able to apply this upward force, it is possible to provide the hoop with an attack tab 22 which makes it possible to raise the hoop using the foot. The tab can be made of plastic or rubber and fixed in any known manner suitable for the arch.
In the second embodiment of the invention, which is shown in Figures 5 to 8, the return means are formed by a tension spring 23 which is arranged substantially axially inside the telescopic locking leg 6. A its upper end, the spring is fixed to a fixing stud 28 which is secured to the end of the leg 6 near the arch 1. The other end of the spring 21 is fixed to a fixing element 29 which is integral with the shoe 2. As is apparent in particular from FIG. 6, the fixing stud 28 and the fixing element 29 are arranged so that the contact stud is located at a level below that of the fixing element 29, when the hoop reaches its position pressed against the ground. Consequently, the spring exerts a force which tends to retain the arch on the ground. To raise the roll bar, it is sufficient to exert, for example with the foot, a small upward force to overcome the force component applying to the ground of the roll bar and to initiate the pivoting of the roll bar towards its raised position, the effect of spring 23.
To allow pivoting of the arch 1, the lower end of the telescopic tube 5 has a longitudinal slot or a recess 30 in which the front part of the shoe 9 which carries the fixing member 29 of the spring 23 can engage.
According to another advantageous characteristic of the invention, the barrier can be locked automatically in its raised position using a lock of a structure known per se and comprising a retractable spring finger, which passes over the bolt of the lock, removing the finger using a key.
The operation and the advantages of the barrier according to the invention are evident from the description of its structure.
Indeed, after unlocking using the key 10, a push causes the barrier to lower. This is maintained at a predetermined distance from the ground, depending on the dimensioning of the return means. This distance could be 10 cm. We avoid as well as the barrier hits a foot which could be below. A pressure of the foot on the barrier the plate at ground level. To then raise the barrier, a push for example from the tip of the foot up is sufficient to overcome the force that blocks it on the ground. Then the barrier rises to a sufficient height to be able to grasp it by hand without having to bend down. Then the barrier is returned manually to its raised position. If necessary, it could automatically lock in this position, without the need to use the key. However, unlocking cannot be done without the key.
Of course many modifications can be made to the present invention without departing from the scope thereof. For example, one could use instead of coil springs 12 of leaf-shaped bending springs. The force of the springs could be chosen so as to ensure a more or less significant effect. The blocking of the roll bar on the ground could be carried out using a device actuable using a lever or a pedal, known per se. In addition, the tension spring could be replaced by a gas spring capable of acting slowly.
