Description

BIOLOGICALLY ACTIVE, IN PARTICULAR DIETETIC
REFRESHMENTS CONTAINING NATURAL INGREDIENTS AND METHOD OF PRODUCTION
Technical field
The invention relates to a biologically active, in particular refreshment soft drink containing natural ingredients and method for production.
Background art
Mainly in civilized countries intemperate consumption of "all sugar" refreshments became quite current. In several professional dental articles reference has been made to the harmful effect of the sugar contained in said refreshments, in particular for children. In the most developed countries 20 to 40 kg beet sugar contained in refreshments is consumed by a child each. At the same time refreshments of ideal composition and being free of sugar are not at all offered for healthy people. Simultaneously, the circle of dietic refreshments which could be consumed by corpulent people or those suffering from diabetes, ailments of digestive organs, veins and cardiac
diseases is considerably restricted. To solve the aforementioned problems several refreshments have been introduced, however, these are far from simultaneously meeting the requirements in respect to refreshing, quenching thirst, desired flavour effect and in addition requirements directed to diabetes, or any other diet. With the majority of said drinks under diet omission of sugar is meant, at the same time artificial sweeteners give a pointedly undesired taste.
A refreshment with healing effect, based on the mixture of the known medicinal teas with
antibilious and bilestone-solving effect is described in the Hungarian Patent Application 1801/82. In the Hungarian Patent Application 2490/82 a drink against obesity is disclosed, based on healing teas with laxative and diuretic effect, the Hungarian Patent Application 3898/82 also describes a drink with healing effect. HU-PS 180 751 relates to a beverage consisting of different medicative teas.
These solutions are uncapable of
simultaneously meeting the aforementioned four
requirements, directed to refreshing, thirst quenching agreable taste and diet.
The aim of the invention is to produce a biologically active refreshment with a flavour being unknown up to now, which is quenching thurst well, assures a good general state of health, refreshes and which is well suitable for dietic purposes. Disclosure of invention
In course of our experiments we suprisingly found that an effect being in compliance with the aim set can be obtained, if apple-peel is used for producing a refreshment.
Accordingly, the invention relates to a refreshment, resp. a family of refreshments with the aquaeous extract of apple-peel as main component.
Essentially apple is the most common Hungarian fruit, produced in the largest quantity and used on industrial level. In course of industrial utilization considerable quantity of apple-peel appeared -as a matter of fact - as waste, so its application for producing a refreshment is
considered as most advantageous.
In dependence of the type, the family of refreshments - and depending on the aim set - may contain other vegetable matters too. In course of our experiments we dosed the different plants e.g. medicinal herbs and vegetable substances resp.
being usual in cooking technique in consideration of innocuity and biologic activity. Accordingly, the products according to the invention contain in addition to apple-peel
advantageously dried or dried and roasted roots of chirory and/or grass and/or leaves and/or dried acacia blossom and/or dried root of parley and/or thyme. Furtheron, the product according to the
invention may contain different flavouring, conserving and sweeting media resp. being acceptable in respect to foodstuff technology. As additives e.g. ascorbic acid, citric acid, magnesiumcitrate, any known
artificial sweeter, so e.g. sorbite, xylite and any other permitted conserving agent e.g. methyl-p-hidroxi- benzoate can be advantageously used. Best Mode of Carrying out the Invention
In course of producing the refreshment according to the invention and the base thereof resp. we proceed expediently so, in so far as apple-peel and optionally any other dried medical herb, vegetable and/or any material of vegetable origin are placed into pre-heated water and cooked at a temperature of 80 to 100 C°. Duration of cooking isn't a critical factor, however, cooking should last from 10 minutes to 1 hour, expediently 15 minutes. Thereafter the concoction with the solid substance therein is allowed to rest for a. longer period,
preferably for 10 to 12 hours, thereafter it is
heated up to boiling and subjected to steaming.
After having been cooled drog subatance is filtered to the pure State, expediently by preaaing with a
gentle force. Flavouring conaerving media and
sweeteners are added to the filtrate, thereafter
the mixture is allowed to rest.
The concentrate substance of the beverage thus obtained can be used for preparing carbonate acidic soft drinks, instant drinks etc.
With a preferred mode of implement of the method according to the invention an apple-peel
tonic is prepared, being a good and nutritive stimulating dietic drink, improving general state of health.
For producing 200-1600 g, expediently 1000 g raw
apple-peel, 20-150 g, preferably 50 g dried chicory
/grass, leaves and root/ or 120-450 g, preferably
200 g raw fresh chicory /grass, leaves and root/ or
200-600 g, preferably 250 g ground chicory root
and/or 20-200 g, preferably 80 g dried acacia blossom and/or 5-100 g, preferably 10 g dried thyme and
200-1500 g, preferably 600g raw carrots are subjected - as previously specified - to heat treatment and steamning, thereafter the mixture is pressed and flavouring, conserving and sweetening means are added, at last the mixture is completed with water.
According to another preferable version of the invention dietic soft drink is produced with apple-peel for persons being on a slimming diet in the following way:
fresh raw apple-peel in a quantity of 200-1600 g, advantageously 1000 g, 20-500 g, preferably 80 g dried chicory root and/or 120-1500 g, preferably 300 g raw chicory root and/or 20- 400 g, preferably 100 g roasted chicory root and/or 100-150 g, preferably 120 g chicorygrass or leaves and/or 20-200 g,
preferably 50 g dried acacia blossom and/or 20 g dried thyme and/or 40-300g, preferably 80 g dried root of parsley and/or 120-1800 g, preferably 250 g fresh root of parsley are cooked so, in so far as vegetable matters are placed in 8-10 litres preheated water of approx. 80 C° and cooked for 15 minutes at 80-100 C°, thereafter the concoction is allowed to rest for 10-12 hours at 18-25 C°; in the next phase the mixture is heated up to boiling, at last it is subjected to steam for 5 minutes. After having pressed the mixture gently, the aforementioned additives are added. Thereafter the mixture is allowed to rest for 10-12 hours, it is filtered and completed with water to about 10 litres. The starting material of beverage thus obtained can be diluted to 20-60 litres with carbonic acid water according to taste.
In course of the process according to the invention fresh ar dried apple-peel can be equally used. Vegetable matter is added expediently in a
comminuted form.
With the soft drinks according to the invention physiological teats were performed, in course of which we found that the refreshments have a really agreable taste, they are refreshening even without cooling to a low temperature. We found that the soft drinks
according to the invention do not only quench thirst but have an appetite reducing effect, facilitate
digestion and stimulate function of brain in addition to dietic effects.
The products according to the invention and the process of production will be described by means of the following examples without the intention to restrict the scope of the invention to the content of the examples. Example 1
800 g fresh raw apple-peel, 150 g dried and roasted chicory-root, 50 g dried acacia blossom 50 g dried root of parsley and 30 g dried thyme are weighed into 8 litres of water heated to 80 C°; thereafter the mixture is kept at 80-100 C° for 15 minutes.
The concontion is allowed to rest for 10-12 hours at room temperature, thereafter boiled and subjected to steam treatment at 100 C° for 5 minutes. After having been cooled the matter is filtered by gentle pressing. 3 g ascorbic acid, 10 g tartaric acid, 10 g
magnesium-citrate and sorbite according to taste are added to the filtrate together with 10 g methyl-p-hydroxi-benzoate. Thereafter the mixture is allowed to rest for 10-12 hours, and after having been
sedimentated and filtered, decanted it is completed to 10 litres with water. The starting material thus obtained is completed to 30 litres with carbonic acid water and filled into bottles.
By using known technology, from the starting material thus obtained pulverized instant product may be also produced. Example 2
Production of the soft drink "Apple-peel tonica"
5000 g raw apple-peel, 1250 g roasted chicory root, 150 g dried thyme and 3000 g raw carrot are weighed into 40 litres of pre-heated water (80 C°). The mixture is cooked at 80-100 C° for 15 minutes, thereafter it is kept at room temperature for
10-12 hours, at last is boiled and subjected to steam for 5 minutes. The cooled and filtered vegetable matter is pressed; in the next step 15 g ascorbic acid, 50 g tartaric acid, 50 g magnesium-citrate, 1500 g sorbite, 1600 g xylite and at last 50 g
methyl-p-hydroxi- benzoate are added to the filtrate. The matter thus abtained is allowed to rest at room temperature for 10 hours, the sedimented filtered substance is completed to 50 litres with water.
The base thus obtained is diluted to 150 litres with carbonic acid water and filled into bottles.
Example 3
Dietic soft drink for persons being on a slimming diet made of apple-peel
3600 g fresh raw apple-peel, 250 g dried chicory root, 360 g dried chicory leaves, 150 g dried acacia blossom and 800 g raw root of parsley are weighed into 25 litres of 80 C° water. Furtheron we proceed according to Example 1 and complete the extrat to a final volume of 30 litres. The basic material thus obtained is diluted to 901 with carbonic acid water and filled into bottles.
