Abstract

A device for extinguishing cigarettes comprises a small tube (1) in which a burning cigarette can be introduced and that can be fixed to an ashtray (2). For that purpose, a support (10) is provided that can be permanently or temporarily fixed to the ashtray (2) and that is suitable to receive the small tube (1). This allows known and proved tubular cigarette extinguishers also to be ideally used in vehicles and the like, which because of their kinetic properties only allow the use of fixed means.

The present invention relates to a device for extinguishing cigarettes, with a tube serving to insert a glowing cigarette and which can be fastened to an ashtray.

So-called cigarette killers have long been used to extinguish burning cigarettes in the form of approximately 2 cm long, often artfully decorated tubes made of metal or glass or plastic, which are placed upright in an ashtray and into which the smoked cigarette is then inserted. This effectively interrupts the access of atmospheric oxygen to the smoldering zone and the cigarette is extinguished immediately and absolutely odorless.

In order to be able to use such tubes in cars, among other things, it is necessary to attach them to the ashtray, for which the same applicant has already proposed attaching open-sided tubes to the edge of the ashtrays by means of fork-shaped clamping means. However, such an embodiment is only feasible to a limited extent, since in particular a large number of ashtray shapes are curved or curved. have differently provided edges with cigarette trays which are not or only poorly suited for a clamp connection. In addition, such holder means are ^• relatively complicated and expensive to manufacture. Furthermore, tubes closed at the bottom are difficult to clean.

It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a device of the aforementioned type which can be connected to any type of ashtray without difficulty and in which the advantageous properties of the known tubes are fully retained.

This is achieved according to the invention by a holder which is suitable for the receptacle of the tube and can be attached to the ashtray in a fixed or stationary manner.

Such a holder according to the invention can already be molded onto the ashtrays by the manufacturer, for example as a recess for inserting the tube or as a cone-like elevation for attaching the tube.

However, it is more individual and expedient to design the device according to the invention in the form of a retrofit kit. For this purpose, the socket is firmly connected to base means which are connected by magnetic adhesion, adhesive or the like. serve with the bottom or wall of the ashtray.

In itself, the holder can be a holder ring into which the tube is inserted, but again with the aforementioned disadvantage of difficult cleaning of the ring holder which is closed on the bottom.

An advantageous embodiment therefore consists in that the holder is formed by a pin which is used to attach the tube.

Such an arrangement allows, in particular, very easy cleaning after use by lifting the tube and blowing it away or wiping away any ash residues from the spigot.

In order to be able to guarantee an individual fastening taking into account all possible ashtray constructions, it is expedient to provide different base means, for example in the form of fastening angles, or with an inclined bottom surface for the inclined arrangement of the tube and / or in the form of a flange, optionally made of magnetic material .

For a highly secure, stationary arrangement of the tube in the Ashtrays can also be advantageous if a pin protrudes from the holder and engages in a guide slot on the tube to form a bayonet catch.

The device for extinguishing cigarettes according to FIG. 1 comprises an open, insertable receptacle for a glowing cigarette, the tube 1 made of any material and of any cross-sectional shape. This tube 1 sits on a socket 10, which is formed here by a pin 7.

For secure attachment of the tube 1 to the mount 7, a pin 8 projects radially from it at a suitable height and engages in a guide slot 9 on the tube 1 to form a bayonet catch.

In an embodiment variant according to FIG. 2, the pin 7 forming the socket 10 is seated on a mounting bracket 4, which permits particularly secure subsequent attachment to an ashtray 2. This angle 4 can also consist of magnetic material or be provided with an adhesive layer on its stop surface.

The arrangement according to FIG. 3, in which the base means 5 have an inclined bottom surface, is also user-friendly, so that the pin 7 holding the tube 1 has an inclination to the bottom surface of the ashtray 2.

As mentioned above, the holder 10 can also be molded onto the ashtray 2, for example as a peg-like elevation or as the recess 6 shown in FIG. 4 for inserting the tube 1. From the foregoing, there is thus a device for extinguishing cigarettes and - with suitable dimensioning - of course also of figures which ideally allow the use of the known and proven tubular cigarette killer also in vehicles and the like. allowed, because of their kinetic properties, only permit stationary work equipment.

Of course, a number of modifications are possible within the scope of the invention. For example, the base means can also be for screwing to the ashtray, or the holder can be a holder ring that projects upward from the base and the like.
